Well, I'm taking an educated? guess that China did go lower sometime between +4 and +10 yesterday while I was in surgery, because we have the bounce to prove it, but in true China fashion, she's clearing it fast.....I hope not too fast though since we know it'll just set her up to bounce again. I've seen this pattern from her many times before, so won't be shocked if she's got a really low PMPS too...of course it could be back up! Just have to wait and see! Might try to get a +11 or +11.5 though so if I get another 59, I'll know if it's gone up or is continuing down. I don't want to stall if I don't have to since I'm working on bringing her schedule back 15 minutes a cycle for the time change Sunday.

Today isn't a good day for me, but I kind of figured it wouldn't be. Just wasn't quite sure how bad it was going to be. Getting 12 feet to the bathroom is a new experience in pain though, and even using the walker or cane, you have to put that foot down.

Still using the little cooling machine/wrap thingy they sent home with me. It's a great idea and I really like knowing I'll have it around. I'd never seen anything like it until they had me hooked up to it and I was surprised when they said it was mine now. It's a LOT better than too cold ice packs, that all too quickly turn into warm and wet ice packs and have to constantly be changed. And it uses a lot of ice. My icemaker can't keep up so I asked my son to bring me a bag of ice. I just hope he gets it here sooner rather than later.

Taking my pain pills, elevating and resting...and trying to arrange my "trips" into other rooms when it's time to test China anyway so I can kill more than 2 birds with one stone.

Hope everyone is having a nice Friday! Sending vines to those who need them and lots of thanks to the people who've dropped in on our condo or sent messages to check in on me. It's very much appreciated!

Hi Chris - good to see you are well enough to do a condo. Take it easy today - fast recovery vines coming your way. If only China would cooperate. Nice rainbow she's got going so far. :roll: I hope you son gets there soon so he can help out.

She's "doing a China", that's for sure!

Breaking the bounce in record time and then throwing a low preshot at me...at least this time it's not a 59, so we'll just have to see where she goes from here..It might be up..it might be down.....or she might just surf all night and make me keep testing her to make sure she's still surfing. (this always cracks me up..they're doing what we WANT them to do, but then we're worried if they're going to continue doing it!! :lol: )

I will say this though...the time I spent getting her used to being in a different testing spot a little higher up was well worth it. I can stand and get her tests in now...I couldn't do that last week.

Thanks for the vines and visits, Wendy and Carla!! We'll just have to see what China has in mind tonight!

I'm glad you're able to get the tests in a little easier, that's awesome! I hope that China will SURF for you in an obvious way so you don't have to keep testing :lol: . It is funny when they do what we want them to and we worry anyways :roll: ;-) . It's good that you are multi-tasking so you only have to get up to do things...sorry it hurts so much :sad: . The machine sounds interesting but I can't picture it, when you're better you'll have to show us a pic :-D . I hope you have a nice evening that doesn't involve too many pokies!

Well, she's being a good girl in that she's definitely in greens, but I sure wish I could get her to understand that 80 is as good as 50! Even 90!

I have a quick question though...She's down from 108 to 56 in 3 hours (I meant to test sooner, but between the time change, and DM calling, I missed it)

I'd rather not test all night, but I will if the situation calls for it...if you were me, would you break out the gravy now to hold her up some? Or maybe feed something higher in carbs? If so, how much higher? I have everything from about 16% up as well as all kinds of low carb (under 10%) foods

She's not acting like she's real hungry, but I'm sure I can get her to eat a little low carb with gravy on top(and I drain the gravy off the Gravy Lovers FF so it's just the gravy she gets)...She'll ALWAYS eat gravy! But I also know that won't hold her forever, so am wondering if it might work better to give her a higher carb food that I'd think would "stick with her" longer.

For some high carb fuds, the carbs are in the gravy (wheat) and not the meaty bits. Do you have any fuds with something like rice or potato in it? Maybe medium carb or half and half with higher carb LC and some HC. If she's feeling not hungry, then you don't want to load her up with just LC.

China up please, now is not the time for drama. :shock: :mrgreen:

I drain the gravy off the Gravy Lovers, so when I pull out the HC, it's just the gravy parts. She doesn't like the meaty parts anyway (like most cats it seems....they like the gravy much better)

I've got higher carb foods, like 15% and up (that are regular pate foods, just higher in carbs) or I can mix gravy with low carb. Not sure what the carb percentage is in just the gravy, but if it's 30%, and I mix it with her normal 4%, I guess that would make something like 17%?

Oh I wish my mind was working a little clearer tonight

Wow...where did 1 1/2 hours go? Seems like I was just up 10 minutes ago for the +3!

Still not out of the woods, but at least she's holding her own with the low carb. Might just give her a baby teaspoon of gravy and hopefully buy me a little more time between tests.

I would give her more carbs so you can take a break and sleep. I wouldn't give her karo or gravy....I'd give her gravy WITH food and hopefully she will come up and stay up so you can rest.

I know what I'm thinking, I'm just having trouble getting my fingers to type it tonight. I meant mixing a little of the drained off gravy from the Gravy Lovers with a little of her regular LC food...and IF the gravy is something like 30%, and the LC is 4%, I guess that would be about 17%

Going to try it...it'll be a good experiment in handling her dives anyway. See if I can get her to stabilize in at least the 60's. Means a little more worry for me, and that translates into testing more than I'd like but I'm thinking it may reduce my need to do it every 30-45 minutes....maybe every 90 as long as she's above 60

I know we all wish she'd surf a little higher, but she always seems to like these lower numbers, and always seems to do just fine (other than the bounces that she clears so quickly lately) but she's not listening to what any of us want.

She's a cat...she does what she wants....LOL
