I feel her pain. I need to lose a ton of weight and can never stay on a diet for long. I also wish I could have someone count my calories and feed me restricted meals!

ditto for me. Since COVID and Cali’s diagnosis in October of 2020 [one year after Bandit’s diagnosis, i stress eat. The more I look at sugar and carb content for people food, the more I seem to eat. In 2019 Cali was 18+ pounds. I confess I weighed more than Cali. However I determined both of us would lose weight as I had already been pegged pre diabetic. We commiserated together. She would cry and beg for food. Unfortunately she did start to lose to a very unhealthy 7.4 pounds by the time we were able to find a veterinarian and get blood tests. I lost 20 during the same time she lost 11 pounds [and almost her life]. Unfortunately we have both found that elusive weight.
Now I catch myself offering some of those same no-no’s to Fred and Two. Very quickly they learn to love human foods such as cheese, cookies, ice cream, fried chicken…. Yes I can see how Cali got there. She did not buy or present those things. She was just so food driven.
 
Fortunately for me, B&B don't like human food. We only ever fed them cat food and since we are vegetarian, there isn't anything tempting in our food for them! Budge had gained some weight last year after her arthritis got worse but she has lost all that weight now and I feel like she is moving around better for it. If only I could lose some weight as well!

with food prices crazy increase you would think that would motivate us to eat less!
BTW, Cali LOVES her daily Meloxicam - 0.2ml dose. She sits up and waits for it. We call it her “good good” and it must be because she readily takes it.
