Things are a pretty low key here this morning. We have a decent appy, although I feel like it is a bit slower and more tentative that it had been for the last day or so. We had our snuggles, and had a bit of a swat fest again (this time civvie Franke swatted at Noah, and then Trixie swatted at Frankie! I don't know where all this swatting is coming from!!), but Trix seems ever-so-slightly "blah" to me today. Not greatly "blah", but it's very subtle - most people probably wouldn't notice, but you know how overly-hyper-sensitive we L&LL mamabeans are. I wonder if Noah's layer of vetty smell caused her some stress?!?

Noah's toe seems to be healing nicely from what I can tell - he's not to keen on having us mess with his feet. We tried to snap a picture of it last night so we could take a better look, but we weren't terribly successful with that, either! We'll try to get a more detailed peek tonight. I changed the technique for his meds and although he's not thrilled, I'm having better luck than we had yesterday morning.

I think we got about 10" of s*** yesterday. So sick of this winter crap. Civvie Petey loves it, because he "chases" the s*** as it slides of the bay window's copper roof - he paces and chatters at it as if it were a bird who was teasing him! But we beans have had enough...Sorry, Petey, but we hope this is it for the year!! it is still very cold today, and the roads are a disaster, but it is supposed to start "warming up" (relative term) over the weekend.

I'm pretty exhausted...still trying to catch up on sleep (and not doing a very good job of it) after sleepless nights from worrying over this, that, and the other...and, of course, I'm still a bit anxious about Trixie's appy and the healing of Noah's toe. Unfortunately, I don't have another day off until Monday, and that's not really a day off because it's a chemo day for my Dad.

Time to get moving....have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

We like low-key Nice green for Trixie today. Maybe she is just having a little off day.

Great news on Noah's toe!

Buh on the s***. Too funny on Petey. Silly kitty. I hope it melts quick.

Have a great day Amy!

I love the image of Petey chasing the snowflakes and chattering! I'll bet that's just adorable. At least there is something you can enjoy about the stuff, Amy. :p

Trixie looks mahvelous. Try not to stress too much, though (hello pot, this is kettle calling!). You know, we ALL have an off day once in a while!

I found an interesting paragraph in the weekly pet column of my local paper I thought you would appreciate:

› Ever think that maybe you’re just a little neurotic when it comes to caring for your pets? Turns out that could actually be good for them, according to new research from the University of California, Berkeley, and California State University, East Bay. “Helicopter” pet owners tend to be highly conscientious and enjoy close relationships with their animals.

So we aren't so bad, after all, are we?

Trix does seem more like herself this evening...anti-jinx. Pretty feisty and bright-eyed and good appy. I may have been imagining a little blahness, or she was just having a little bit of an off day. It really wasn't noticeable to most...definitely something only a helicopter would notice! (Thank you, @Tricia & Cinco !!) I do know being a helicopter has been good for Trix's health - mine, not so much - but hers, I catch things pretty early and can intervene before they grow into a bigger issue.

Petey is really cute when he chases snow...he does it for HOURS on end, and then when night falls, he is beat - sleeps like a rock. It's pretty funny.

So DH and I came home to a broken furnace this evening. UGH. Fortunately we do have zoned heat and our second floor furnace is working, but the main first floor furnace is out. We're waiting for the tech now...fun ways to spend a Friday night. And most of you know my extreme dislike for cold....not a happy camper this evening. I need to look up a recipe for HOT adult beverages!!

I'm glad Trixie seems more like herself this evening. How cute on Petey chasing the snow. I hope you get the furnace fixed quickly. How awful in that weather.

I know how much you hate winter. How about starting with some nice hot chocolate, and maybe add a bit of Baileys if you have it? I hope you stay warm, and everything is fixed by tomorrow morning. Hugs.

We don't have any Bailey's, but I bet hot chocolate and Chambord would be mighty tasty......hmmmmm....

Tech just got here....hopefully we'll be back up and running soon!

Yikes on the broken furnace! hopefully youre up and running soon. I sure hope you can relax tonight since you have been having issues with the fur babies. Healing vines for Noahs toe, and Trixies appy, and especially for your dad on Monday. I vote for the chambord and hot chocolate!!:p

Yea for heat! That doesn't, however, preclude a little hot adult beverage.

Trixie. Be on your toes. Mamabean's watching! I really hope she gives you only moments to smile at for quite a while, Amy. No more blahs, little girl.

Hope the snow melts gently. And the temps come up nicely.
