Good Morning, Everyone,

We have a blue AMPS. Good sign! I am hoping to get Rusty back to his normal numbers before I start him on Allerplex (so that I will be able to gauge how it might affect his numbers). My order of Allerplex from Amazon is supposed to arrive on Friday, but the vet also ordered it for me, and her office called this morning to tell me that it had arrived. I'll pick it up tomorrow. In the meantime, Rusty's breathing has sounded good (to my ears, in any event) and he has not had a "hairball-like hack" in a few days. Fingers and paws crossed.

We had a good night, Rusty sleeping between his beans. This morning he had a good test, a good shot, first sitting of breakfast, a schmooze, and now is napping in his little bed by the radiator.

The beans are having lunch with friends at the St. Regis Cafe at Paul Smiths College. The cafe is run totally by the students in the Hotel and Restaurant program: they determine the menu, do all the ordering and all the cooking, wait the tables, do the "books", etc.--in other words, they learn how a restaurant functions in every aspect. After lunch we are going to snowshoe at the VIC (this will not be a strenuous outing  ). Rusty will have his lunch before we leave and his afternoon snack served by his automat.

Wishing you all a good day and sending healing vines to all kitties and beans in need of some.

Ella & Rusty

Looking good, Rusty! I like the trend in his numbers. Paws crossed for the allerplex to work without making his BGs go wonky. Have fun at lunch and snowshoeing. :-D

Re: 3/6 Rusty AMPS 185

Sounds like you have another fun day planned. I'm glad Rusty is improving even before the meds! I hope they get him feeling even better.

Russ! Wasn't it nice to be back in the Lagoon last night! The others have been keeping things in order, but we needs to get back to work! -- Tess, Behilflicher LaguneMeister

I hope Rusty gets back to his normal numbers soon so you can see how the Allerplex works for him. Hopefully it won't raise his BG.

Re: 3/6 Rusty AMPS 185, +5 151, PMPS 179

Hi again,
Rusty seems to have stayed pretty flat today (although I don't have a reading for the afternoon). In any event, he was happy to see us when we got home and had eaten all of his lunch and his afternoon snack. We had a good combing and his usual afternoon "treat" of NaturVet hairball gel (which he loves).

Our lunch at the college was really good: a $10. prix fixe with a St. Patrick's Day theme. Three choices in each of three courses. Most of us had salmon cakes with a lovely garnish of sprouts for the first course, cod in parmesan crust with green beans, or vegetarian shepherd's pie, or bangers and mash for the 2nd course, and strawberry shortcake on a current scone for dessert. We could hardly move after finishing the meal, but went out and snowshoed about 4 miles anyway! :-D

Wishing everyone a fine evening,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella. What a lunch for $10.....can't beat that . Glad you enjoyed it. The 4 mile snowshoeing trek was a great idea after the strawberry shortcake on a current scone. Happy that Rusty is feeling a bit better today. Hope he keeps his numbers down.

Have a great evening.
