Good Day!

Morgaine had a lovely surf and was 101 this AMPS. However, I may have given her a fur shot this AM. Someone knocked on the door as I was shooting and she jumped. I smelled insulin on her fur so we shall see.

It was another rough night with her peeing and her inability to allow me to clean her up. She seems so unhappy and uninterested in anything but her food. I spent most of the day and night yesterday cleaning up after her. I am honestly not sure if she wants to be here anymore and I am trying my best to determine this. Sometimes I just do not think I can continue to do this. Last night when I attempted to clean her up after she just sat in her pee, she became aggressive again. I covered her head with a towel and proceeded to wipe her bottom but she is not the sweet kitty she used to be. She seems angry and so very unhappy.

This is very difficult, obviously and I will take her in on Thu. to see the pain management vet but I am losing my sense of hope for this to work out. I am truly exhausted and so very sad about it all but I need to get my life back and she is not interested in life. All input is welcome at this time. I know that the decision is mine to make and I am hurting right now.

Oh, Rosalie. No advice, just hugs. :YMHUG: I really hope the pain management vet can make a difference for you guys. Sending strong vines to Morgaine.

It breaks my heart to see you going through this, both of you. I hope the pain management vet has some good options. I'm holding you in my heart and prayers. :YMHUG:

rosalie, you have done, and are doing, everything possible. we know how much you cherish morgaine and for you to be at this point tells me how terrible the situation is. my heart goes out to you. i hope hope hope the pain specialist has some ideas for you. i am wondering if she is in some kind of pain and that's causing all of this. perhaps even a trial run of a painkiller just to see if it helps - you are at the point of nothing to lose. if you have any thought that it might help, i'd go for it.

wish there were more we could do to help you.

many hugs!!!!

Linda said it beautifully, it is heartbreaking. You and Morgaine have been through so much together. I hope the pain specialist can help. Big hugs.
Liz

Rosalie, it is so heartbreaking for both of you. I wonder, too, about her pain level. Is she still getting any Bupe? It seems when she was on the Bupe her spirits were better. I echo the others in saying I hope the Pain Management Vet can help Morgaine. Hugs to you both.

Rosalie, my heart breaks for both of you. Please go and hear what the pain specialist has to say. You need to try everything for your peace of mind, to know that you have done everything possible. Only you can decide if her quality of life is what you would like for her. Your own quality of life has to be considered as well. I have been at that decision point and I know that no one here can tell you what to do. I only know that you are a loving mom to her and that your choices for her are based on love. I pray that the doctor can give you some fresh hope.

Thank you all for understanding and for your support. I am trying to determine what is going on for Morgaine. Her steps arrived today and I placed treats on each step and she found herself on the bed. She seemed disoriented but sat there with me and i gave her more treats. I can't tell if she has pain or if she is showing some signs of dementia. She has been doing some spaced out things so that is why I am wondering. I will allow Dr. L, the pain management doc to evaluate her. I knew her name sounded familiar to me and Marje spoke so highly of her. My dear friend knows of her and loves her. Many, many years ago my friend had a german shepherd who had hip surgery. Her beloved Max was in excruciating pain due to a truly botched surgery. Dr. L actually came to my friend's home to treat Max and to assist my friend as she was so distraught. Max was helped and he did do much better but shortly after that he was put down due to another unrelated issue. So, I do know that Morgaine is going to be in the hands of an expert who my oldest friend and newest friend, Marje, adore.

Another friend suggested that perhaps Morgaine could spend a couple of nights in the hospital for observation to see if she uses the LB there and if they can observe anything else. It was just a suggestion but i intend to discuss all with Dr. L including my own issues and limits. For right now, I got to hold my kitty even though she wasn't too responsive and then meowed and jumped off the bed, not going down the stairs. She seems to have no problem getting off of the bed but her front paws do all the work going down and they are still very strong.

Thank you all again for all the support and thank you for the fund raiser. It makes it possible to seek out more medical help and to have a complete evaluation of her condition.

Her +7 BG was 131 and her +3 was 172 so i am unclear about if she got a fur shot and her shed got drained some or if the shot actually went in. In any case, her numbers didn't get too high and she will soon get her PM shot.

you've mentioned a few things before about the possibility of kitty dementia. i don't know how a vet would evaluate that, but i imagine they've seen it before and have some way to tell.

crossing fingers for morgaine and your visit on thursday!
