larry still hates the shot. hard to get him to eat for it. after several attempts, got it in scruff (which he didnt flinch, but not sure if he jst gave in or its easier on him), its a little harder for me. already on the floor hunched over trying to see, blind as a bat. then my hands hurt so bad, and having to squeeze up and hold the scruff, but anyway. its over!
oh, an i forgot to get clothespins the other day, mel. darnit.
still have the bubble issue, but i have discovered something. after reinserting at least once, when the lantus is already in syringe, ur less likely to get a bubble with each time. something abt liquid being there, it seems.
question. does any1 else notice their cats eyes r dilated when theyre high? poor larry, his look like saucers. i used to notice it b4 his dx and wondered abt it. now i know what it means. i wonder if human eyes do it.
dread the time change sunday. yuck. always loved it, but it makes everything an hr. early, and i really feel it. blah blah.

Can you change where you feed Larry? How about putting his food dish on the coffee table, or even higher if he will jump up there, or you can lift him up? I have a bad back and that is why I test and shoot on the dining room table. No way in the world I want to be crouched over almost to the floor, trying to see in bad lighting to give a shot. Nope, we get that all done on the table, under a bright chandelier with a pair of cheap reading glasses on to make it easier to see what I am doing.

aww hi sammy.
thats what i was doing. he always ate on the counter, or yes a table would be good, but he refuses now. remember the post where i said he fights me to jump down? or maybe it was sum1 else, but i had to give up bc i dont want to stab him in the wrong spot. he wont eat upon anything anymore. sum1 had said let him eat on the floor, so i have been. if on a table, bed or anything he fights to get down.
and yes, my back kills me! i thot it hurt b4 larry. not complaining. :) but with all the bending and crouching, i am in extreme pain from herniated discs, and DDD. idk the answer tho.

Ok, I see your dilemma. That is a really tough one then.

I wanted to share something else with you and that is Sammy's Spreadsheet from Diagnosis to the end of 2013. Since January, she has been doing great, but before that, I was right where you are! I am hoping by seeing how rough it was for Sammy and I a few months ago, compared to now, can be an inspiration and give you some comfort.

This will get better, hon. It really will.

oh, and on my spreadsheet, click on the US tab at the bottom to see the numbers that you are used to seeing. I live in Canada, so my mter uses metric measurements, but the spreadsheet converts it on the second tab

yes i do see the improvement. thanks. if we nvr went above yellow, i would be pretty happy. with blue mixed in daily.

shot went well in scruff so may have to keep doing that. his eyes still way dilated. do other cats do it?
in baddddd pain myself, exhausted. must try rest. back killing me.

Better number tonight, glad the shot went well. Yes, stick with the scruff shots, those are way easier, generally. Have a good sleep, see you tomorrow.

ok good. hadnt heard that. in fact, sum1 said they were bad. forget who/when. i hae stayed up a little to watch him and baby. gtng more concerned abt her as she has been drinking more water and acting strange. gonna hv to test her soon. i did once an she was 70. i sure hope shes ok. i gta sleep. night

Phew!!!

My Alska (as do many other sugars) goes lower at night. That's why I hit close to his nadir with an 8% snack at 11:15 pm when all my cats get their night snack. That way he won't be bouncy the next day.
