OK, another piece of the puzzle: I just weighed Chispa and found that her weight has gone from 14.3 four weeks ago to 14.8 now. That is too much.
I’ve been trying to cut down on her portion sizes, but I wonder if feeding 12% at +1 and +2 in both AM and PM cycles is causing her to gain weight. The 16% food that I mix 2:1 with Weruva 4% to get ~12% carbs is 99 cals./3 oz. can. For comparison, the Weruva is 99 cals./6 oz. can. So that’s adding up quickly.
The 12% feedings at +1 +2 were meant to keep her from diving at +3, but she is diving anyway — not in every cycle, but often. Is it time to feed only low-carb and let the chips fall where they may re: diving? Maybe she would be easier to regulate if she was less overweight? For reference, her typical weight used to be around 13 lbs.
