I think the p.m. shot last night was a fur shot, or partial fur shot. Smelled a slight whiff of Lev. at bedtime. This morning's number seems to confirm a fur shot. Guess I'll put a dollar into the fur-shot basket! It was cold in the house last night and Rusty spent the night sleeping, and only ate about 1/4 of his nighttime fuds. Gotta do better than that, Mr. Cat!

Another very cold morning today (-1 F.), and still very windy. Last night, driving home from the party, the stars and moon were brilliant. Nothing like a clear, cold night sky.

Today is a get-ready-for-the trip day. We have to be in NYC next week for doctors appts. and a meeting with our tax man. Rusty will enjoy chilling out and bouncing.

Everyone have a good weekend.

Yo Kitties, I'm going to the Big Apple tomorrow and invite you to join me there on Monday morning for our usual city pursuits (hot dogs, visits to great places, parties, etc.). We'll meet at our favorite hot dog cart in Central Park.

Hoping Rusty's appy picks up again. Yes this sudden change to the bitter cold winter mode is enough to throw anyone off kilter.

Your trip to the big city sounds like an ideal winter change of pace.

How long is the car trip to NYC?
6 hours, including 2 brief stops. I drive, Edward and Rusty are the passengers. Rusty sits on his blanket on the armrest between the front seats. His carrier (open, in case he wants to go into it to sleep) is in the back, as is his litterbox (we have a small SUV and the rear seatbacks are down). There is an aisle to the litterbox and our stuff is on either side of the aisle. Trips to the city are easy with regard to stuff. Trips to camp are more challenging since we have all our canoeing gear.

It was a brilliant sunny day today, but the high was +5 degrees F. and with the windchill it felt much colder. We took the short way to the PostOffice this morning and didn't go outside at all in the afternoon. Right now (8 p.m. Eastern time) is is -2 degrees. After the warm spell we had last week, this seems very cold!

You're lucky that you can travel with Rusty! Or maybe I should say that Rusty is lucky he gets to travel with his Beans!

Didn't Rusty have some pretty good numbers on his last trip to NYC? Seems like he didn't bounce around like he had in the past

Hopefully he'll just car-surf the whole way and settle in quickly!!

Yo Rusty....I be der!! Da hot dog cart is my favorite!!...and I likes watching da squirrels and da ducks in da park too.....but I still thinks it's not fair dat da hoomins feed da squirrels and da dumb ducks but don't feed us kittehs
