Good morning World! Yesterday's BLUES!

AMPS 314

Mr. Liver showed up last night with his candy bowl - Pook just can't resist sweets... I did get a test early early am, 200something. Something was going on in the neighborhood last night...dogs were barking way more than usual, donkey was hollering often, cats inside were pacing and pissy with each other. This didn't make for a restful night for either of these old beans. We couldn't hear or find anything but if a pack of coyotes were running, we wouldn't....

Thank you all for your DH get well wishes...we continued with sudden attacks all day. One really strange thing with this disorder is that most of the time, between attacks, you'd never know there was anything wrong. There are days that he has small ones all day - those days he's just weak all over, can't lift a full milk jug. The days he has major ones, he regains his strength between them. It's just WIERD!

How about another 'Design by LyresaD' today? Warning....long story coming so grab the coffee or soda....

A lot of my pieces have stories behind their creation making them a little more special. Today I'm sharing 'Paul's Horse'. Back in the 70's, a neighbor's father had a bolo tie with this horse given to him by his wife. Shortly after that, his wife was in an accident and died several months later due to injuries...he took care of her while she was bedridden. During that time, the horse center (transfer on ceramic) fell out, it was put in a jewelry box and forgotten. Their daughter, my neighbor, found it in the box when Paul went to a nursing home. She brought it to me asking if I could find something, a simple bezel or such, to reset it...didn't have time.... I put it away....

Part II - I cut many slices of wood before finding the one that 'talks' to me. I liked this slab but it didn't fit anything - too dark, just nothing - started to throw it away but instead....I put it away....

I opened the drawer a couple of weeks later and there, laying side by side, were these 2 pieces both grinning at me. I laid the horse on the slab - I grinned too!!! PERFECT!! I carved the center to allow the horse to sit well into the piece discovering something even neater - when you look at the picture, notice how the horse's neck continues into the wood. That's not colored - that's the natural wood! I added simple wirework on top to allow her to wear it or display it. Paul absolutely loved it also.

Thoughts and prayers today for Jill/Tigger/Pooh, Patricia and family and Gail/Reagan/Smudge and all others needing them.

BIG HUG to all of you that visit today!

Hi Lyresa,
That is a neat story about Paul's horse and the new setting. Just wanted to tell you again how much I enjoyed looking at the pictures of your jewelry in your album.

KT is almost yellow this morning and I'm sure he'll get down, maybe to blue again, today. I hope that all your animals have calmed down from whatever the disturbance was. And I hope that DH is feeling good today.

Hugs to you all,

Ella & Rusty

Let's see some blue today KT!

Lyresa, love the jewelry and this one especially, and the story that goes with it makes it even more special. That is so awesome the way the horse's neck blends right down into that piece of wood, almost like they were made for each other, and each had to simply wait for the other til you found it!

Lyresa, that looks great! I make some jewelry myself here and there. The wirework bail you did is really well-done. I still need a lot of practice to get my wirework less "squiggly"!

Beautiful story, beautiful piece! I actually own a bead store and make jewelry for a living (as well as teach it). I missed the link to your photo album...I'd love to see it! PM the link if you have a chance! Personally, I adore making things that combine unexpected elements...visual contrast is gorgeous.

Let's clear that bounce, KT!!!

Have a great day!

Wow, beautiful. I hope DH is doing better. That must be totally weird and frustrating. KT, let's see some yellow, that would be great.
Liz

I hope the neighborhood is quiet tonight, and your whole family is doing better. I see KT had some nice blue, today cat_pet_icon .
Your horse jewelry piece is real pretty. You got me hooked on those eaglets!
