Hello!!
Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...-209-vet-visit-acting-off-appy-issues.134025/
Thank you again for your helpful suggestions and kind words yesterday!! I was very nervous, but you made me feel less scared. Billie's appy is just starting to pick up tonight, which is great. I'd say she's eating about half as much as I'd like to see her eat, but that's better than yesterday. She is eating some cat food in addition to ham and pork.
Her blood work came back - her vet was out so he didn't go over it with me (he will call tomorrow) but I got a copy. I plugged what I have into the labs tab on her SS. I will add her BW from September and the April before that too. I don't see anything scary, as far as I can tell.
Her creatine kinase is a bit elevated - 521 when the reference range on our test says 64-440. From my googling, it sounds like that can happen from stress/manhandling at the vet? She had her anal glands expressed about 10 minutes before the blood was drawn, and she was definitely stressed/manhandled for that.
Also, her cholesterol is high (363). It was 350ish on the last test in September too. The vet wasn't concerned by that last time around, so I'm not sure if that's something to worry about. Her T4 came back at 0.8 - right on the border of subnormal, but still technically normal, I think? I am not an expert with blood work, but I don't see anything bad jumping out at me.
I am thinking maybe she was/is constipated based on what I read after everyone weighed in last night. It makes sense with the combined poo issues and lack of appy. She did poo today, but it was small. She has no interest in pumpkin or squash, but I will give her a bit of Vaseline to see if that gets things moving a bit better, and she'll be getting ham and pork with her canned food until her appy improves. She is a little more social today too - yesterday, she was hiding more and sleeping in unusual spots, but tonight she is back in her favorite corner of the couch. Thank goodness. I get so worried when she doesn't feel well.
Thank you again for your help!! I am sending lots of vines to all the kitties and beans needing vines.
