Good Morning, Everyone,

Happy Saturday to you all, and don't forget the Earth tonight. From 8:30-9:30 P.M., in whatever time zone you live in, turn off your lights for this hour to observe "Earth Hour", a global commitment to preserving and protecting our planet for all of the species who live on it.

Rusty wanted us up early again this morning: lots of head butts, kisses, squirms, walking back and forth over our pillows. But we don't get up until the Ducks quack (he knows this and finally went back to sleep). We had a good test, shot, breakfast (a combo of Wellness Turkey and By Nature Turkey and Turkey Liver), and now "the Laird" is chillaxing on his bed by the radiator. It's snowing outside, 29 degrees. No spring here yet! Maybe we'll have some sunshine later today so that Rusty can go outside without getting his feet wet!

Busy day for the beans getting ready for our Earth Hour dessert and game party. I'm going to make a sweet potato-pecan cake (yesterday I made a batch of cranberry- walnut cookies). We'll play Mexican Train Dominoes, Takaradi, card games, and whatever games people bring. We'll drink champagne (one of the best "fruits of the Earth") and eat dessert by candlelight. Rusty will enjoy seeing all his bean friends.

I think if Vyktor can manage space travel to the lagoon, surely he can manage time travel too? :lol: :lol: :lol: Woohoo, Rusty! Where is your :mrgreen: ? Your bed by the radiator sounds amazingly cozy, especially on a day like today.

Good morning, guys! Tonight's party sounds lovely... and indeed, a recipe share is in order! Fingers and paws crossed that Rusty gets some outside time today before playing host tonight! And then candlelight at the lagoon later? Lets see that green, handsome boy!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Rusty! VERY nice AMPS!

'tis much warmer here...no radiator needed! We feel for you...it's 68 degrees here at 10am. Beautiful day promised too. I ought to give you a hard time about baking things for Earth Hour using power....fire up that wood stove! What? Don't HAVE one? Oh well, WE don't know how to do those things any more do we? Me, I'd burn that cake and anything else I tried to use it for!

Rusty came within a few inches of catching the chipmunk (according to Edward; I was inside, baking). Then he camped out next to one of the entrances to Chip Chip's house, but the smart rodent knew to stay inside. So poor Rusty had to settle for his turkey lunch!

The cake is baked, but not yet iced. Now I'm going to make a fruit salad. Edward wants to make Jello, but I suggested we hold that until the next club potluck!!! :lol: :lol: We'll see!

Our public radio station made their goal and is about to draw the winner for the iPad. Oh, They just drew the winner: it wasn't yours truly!

Ah, the lagoon Master is back to work. Sorry about the chipmunk, Rusty. But I think the turkey probably tasted better.

Looking forward to the cake recipe and maybe the cranberry/walnut cookies too. I have one of those but I only make them at Christmas, because you need fresh cranberries.

Have fun tonight Ella... (it's my imagination, I know, but Earth Hour seems like the LONGEST hour in the entire year!!! LOL Certainly feels like an overly loooooong hour to me anyway.....) Makes ME realize how dependent I am on electricity.... :roll:

How does Rusty do with company over?

Enjoy your evening with friends (and good food/drink). I was not aware of the Earth Hour. I will try to respect that tonight. Are flashlights allowed? It's kitty play hour from 8:30-9:30 (before evening snack). Maybe we could have some flashlight fun!!! :mrgreen:

I can so see Rusty almost catching chip chip, and the waiting.... :cool:

Rusty! nice numbers today - I am glad that you are once again master of the lagoon. Mannie had hoped to be able to be there, but alas, he got lost... again....

I turned all the lights off and lit candles for earth hour. I never light candles because of the cats, but the house is still standing. :lol: I didn't leave them alone with the candles.
 
Party was great and Rusty was a fine host. He really likes people and enjoyed a lot of attention. More tomorrow. Earth Hour was a success. We had candles and an oil lamp.

Aw, Ella...you inspired me to participate!

I'm pretty sure Binks trounced a Tortie Girl in the dark, so Earth Hour was a success all around :lol:
