As many of you know, DH and I saw Bruce Springsteen the other night. I've been a HUGE Bruce fan since I was a kid, and I just can't see him often enough! This show was particularly touching, because it is the first I've been to since Clarence "Big Man" Clemons passed away. Bruce did incredibly moving tributes to both Clarence and Danny...

This time around, we were VERY lucky. We were literally front and center, and as such we've been "featured" in quite a few YouTube videos! This is just one of them...off his new ablum, I bring you "Easy Money". We're in the lower right-hand corner. I've got the dark hair and denim jacket; DH has glasses and is wearing the tan plaid flannel shirt. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did....

Bruce Springsteen, "Easy Money"

Since I took yesterday as my day off, today I begin the transition back to the hard reality that not every day is front row tickets to Bruce...

OMG! AMY!! Who did you know to get so close?!! :o You guys were practically ON the stage! You could have touched his feet! Wow! That is SO cool and I'm envious BIG TIME!

We were incredibly lucky to end up where we were. We had general admission (GA) tickets, which gave us a pass to be on the floor. When you have GA tickets, you can then enter the lottery to be in the pit. which held 500 people. Long story short, when they drew the number for the lottery, we were #14 and #15 in line, so we pretty much had pick of the entire floor.

I've been in the pit a number of times, but I have never been THAT close before. I'm still in a Bruce-induced daze...

Serryn...well, yep, can't argue about ANY aspect of Bruce. The man is - and always has been - very easy on the eyes!

Wow!!! Amazing seats for what I'm sure was an amazing show!! I once got really close seats at Wicked in Chicago, but not nearly as cool as Springsteen!

Wow, Amy! You and DH were up really close and touching the stage. Uhh yes, easy on the eyes is right. Thanks for taking us along for a short view of the concert, very exciting! Have a nice day.

Amy, wow, that is close! He could have stepped on your hand and I bet you wouldn't have even complained. Instead you would keep it, and not wash it, and put it on you tube, "THIS IS THE HAND THAT BRUCE STEPPED ON" He could have pulled you up on stage too, like Courteney Cox!

I think I saw him in the 70's at the Stone Pony, I know, how can I just "think" I saw him, but those days were so long ago and yes, the drinking age was 18 then! So you can see where I'm going with this.

Well, I'm glad Trixie made out ok in your absence. I am going to see Sting in June, and I will be leaving Daphne for the first time since her dx. He's in AC, and we are staying over, but my son will be home from college, so I hope to teach him how to test. You should have asked me, I would have given Trixie her shots and tests.

oh how fun, amy! talk about front row seats. i watched the video first, then read the rest of the posts. when i got to serryn i was thinking "i didn't even notice his butt" i must be getting old!

barb, i enjoyed your reminiscing and not knowing if you saw him or not. my answer is "it was the 70's." it was a different world then. ;-)

celi - i just saw your post about cats and their tails on the last loose lips - too funny. loved the pic!

and squeem - was that you who posted the azaleas pic? just beautiful - we have them all over here, in fact, we have a pink one fairly similar to the blooms you posted. i'll post a pic when they blossom. they're related to rhododendrons.

the rain actually stopped here for a couple of hours this afternoon. supposedly we've had 3 inches since Thursday. i'd be uber happy to see some sunshine about now! :-D

How AWESOME!!! and how funny is it that I watched you and DH in the clip rather than Bruce????

Heck, I already know what he looks like ;-) .

ETA:    Julie...it was late in the posting, but I think it's hilarious that most of you are totally used something that we're just learning about again.
I had tailed babies when I was a kid, you'd think it'd be like riding a bike, but...

LOL, you guys. It was quite a night.

Barb - Ever since that "Dancing in The Dark" video, I fantasized about being in Courtney Cox's position! Alas, now he always either pulls kids or his Mom on stage to dance  . That's OK, I was still just as close as her this time around, despite not getting pulled up on the stage.

Liz...too funny!

I won't make any further comments on his butt ;-) ....

for you, liz:

in my defense, i was looking at my buddy, AMY! :-D ;-) :-D

You guys are all too funny!!! That was a good Sunday morning laugh! Good for you Amy!!! That is super exciting and you definitely did have the best seats in the house. Bruce is awesome and still looks great.

I had to go back and find this but what a great video and HOW COOL that you and DH were so close. OMG!!!!! I'm so happy you got to go!

Thanks, Marje! This little mini-escape (which virtually felt like a vacation! I haven't been away from the house for that long - 12 hours - in over a year!) was just what the doctor ordered. I'm still half-floating on my Bruce Buzz. I still can't believe we got THAT close this time around. The good news: he'll be back in the fall, once he's done touring Europe!

Tickets haven't gone on sale yet, Ann...but believe me, I'm checking my "inside sources" on a daily basis for the announcement!

Since this condo popped back up to the top through no power of my own ;-) , I've got to add one more video. DH and I don't make an appearance until late in this one (after the 9 minute mark), when Bruce and Nils jump off the main stage and play right in front of us . He played this one because an audience member - a young girl - requested it for her Dad, who is serving in Iraq. Being such a stand-up guy, he obliged. It's such a fun song...an old, old, old favorite.

Bruce Springsteen, "Thundercrack"

I can't tell you how many hours have disappeared to YouTube over the past few days  !

My friend Doc scored us tickets for Madonna's show Oct 2, 2012 in Seattle :-D :-D :-D :-D

I'm a dedicated concert-goer, but have NEVER been fortunate enough to see Madonna...
(and have never bought tickets this far in advance  )

But, i'll wait to pay for my ticket until I see if circumstances allow...
Binks best stay at the Falls for more reasons than one
The only show I've seen since his Dx was Macy Gray...
and that's cuz it was an outdoor show 2 miles from our house.

I've bought Bruce tickets 7 months out before, too...talk about needed patience pants! I won't be surprised if the fall tour dates are announced and go on sale any second now.

You should go to Madonna!!! I'm sure Binks will stay put, and I hear she puts on quite a show as well!

Amy, I watched that last video of the concert, very exciting! That was so nice of Bruce to dedicate that song to her Dad in Iraq. I did see you and DH, real quick views, and about three of them I think!

Bruce is awesome like that...he really interacts with the crowd on many levels. DH and I made a short appearance early one, but later on - when Bruce and Nils jumped off the main stage, they were right in front of us for a good minute or so...you get a nice view of the back of my head  !

C'mon fall tour dates...I'm already getting excited, and they haven't even been announced!
