Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

I was pretty nervous, coming downstairs this morning, about what I would find where Harvey is concerned. Of course, I knew if there was a huge issue, DH would have awakened me before he left for work. I was relieved to see that Harvey had eaten all of his first breakfast, except for the usual little bit at the back of the dish that's so hard to get to. Cinco had also eaten all of his. I didn't seen any signs of more vomit anywhere, thank goodness. Before I went to bed, Harvey had eaten all but a couple of teaspoons of a jar of baby food (I gave the rest to Cinco). The Ondansetron did seem to take effect in about 20 minutes - I knew the injections were faster than the pills, which usually take closer to an hour. I was concerned about giving the shot, as I recalled when I gave it to Minka that way, should would always cry out in pain. Harvey didn't do that, to my relief.

When Mark tested Harvey this morning, he got a 414, which was a shock. Remembering my instructions (good boy!) he retested and got the 399. No idea why he was so high.

Harvey is still working on his second breakfast, about half gone. Cinco required the addition of some Forti Flora. His appy seems to have tapered off a little. His breathing still sound pretty good, though and he's looking comfortable on the sofa. I am really anxious to hear what the oncologist thinks and see if he'll get his first round of chemo today. I do still plan to talk to the oncologist about Harvey. I think he needs to be seen, either by an oncologist, or an IM. :nailbiting:

Thanks to everyone that has posted on yesterday's condo this morning. We appreciate all the vines and encouragement.

We are keeping @Paula and Michael in our thoughts and prayers today.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

I'm glad both boys are eating and doing OK this morning....I know how worried you were last night! Maybe Harvey has a tummy bug and that was the cause of the vomit and higher numbers.

Sending prayers for today's vetty visit, and that you're able to get Harvey in, too.

Good luck at the oncologist today! Glad to hear they are both still eating and Cinco's breathing is better. Sending vines and hugs as always for you all :bighug:

I'm glad there was no vomit this morning. I'd say Harvey's high numbers are from whatever was bothering him last night. I'm glad he's eating today and Cinco too. Sending prayers for the vetty visit and for Harvey. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Vines for both boys are being expressed to you:bighug::bighug::bighug:. I hope today went well for you guys. Thinking of you all much and keeping you in my prayers:bighug:

Harvey??? 400??? What's with that?? You usually aren't that big of a bouncer!! Head on back down soon! (but not too soon if you get my drift!)

Good to hear Cinco's eating and breathing better....and hoping today's vetty visit went well.

Cinco buddy...you beat that awful "c-word" once....I just know you can do it again! You have such a great team of vets and the best beans ever!!

Hehehe look at mark not only being able to test Harvey but being able to test him twice :) I'm glad Harvey didn't complain about his O shot, it makes it so much easier on the beans when the kitty cops it sweet.

Sending vines for both boys.

Thanks for the visits and the vines, everyone. Long day for both Cinco and me. Dr. Moore told me that the final report from the pathologist confirmed that his Lymphoma is back. :( His bloodwork was good enough for him to get his first Chemo treatment. Afterwards, Dr. Moore told me that the results of the Spec fpl that they ran when they did the CT scan came back and Cinco was at 22 (high end of normal is 3.5)!! She said this is probably why he was dehydrated and not eating. She also has a concern that the cancer extends into his central nervous system. She says the Elspar and Pred can breach the blood/brain barrier and treat the CNS. Some of the chemo agents they use won't do that, but there is one, Cytosar, that will do so, and if his blood work indicates he can handle it, that is the drug they will use next treatment, next Thursday.

Dr. Moore was totally blown away by how much Cinco was improved. She has been peeking at his SS daily. She things the p-titis has contributed to his high numbers. She wants me to give him 2 mg of Ondansetron twice a day to help with the inappetance and head off any tummy troubles from the chemo. She also gave me some Cerenia, in case we need more help. Cinco was not at all dehydrated, so I don't have to do fluids unless I see signs he needs them.

I also talked to Dr. Moore about Harvey, and she said he absolutely could be treated in Oncology, so I took the first available consult appointment, May 3rd, and the department coordinator will call me tomorrow and let me know if he can get us in sooner. Paws crossed, 'cause if he can't work some magic with the schedule (and he usually can), I'll have to take Harvey to see an IM.

Both Cinco and Harvey ate all their dinner. I was very relieved that Cinco ate right after chemo. We'll see how he does tomorrow....

Continuous vines and prayers are headed down state to @Paula and Michael. :bighug:

(((Tricia)))

I'm so sorry that the lymphoma is back but it sounds like Dr. Moore is on top of this. I hope she will see Harvey soon

Many prayers for your sweet boys.

I'm sorry the lymphoma is back, but I'm glad Cinco was able to get his first treatment. I hope they can work Harvey in sooner. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm sorry the diagnosis was confirmed, but Cinco already seems to be responding so well, so prayers that his response continues and that there are no chemo crashes! And, as much as p-titis sucks, it is good that you have an answer for why he was feeling the way he was. I'm glad Oncology can see Harvey, too...and as always, prayers for him, too!

So very sorry that the lymphoma is back for Cinco! Prayers that the positive response continues for him! Prayers for Harvey and you as well!

So sorry the diagnosis was confirmed for Cinco :( Hopefully he responds well to the Chemo. Vines to both the boys and hugs to you Tricia :bighug:

Sending vines to both your boys

Glad to hear that Cinco is doing better and hope he tolerates the chemo well.

Harvey- 400!! what is up with that?? Head back to the lagoon if you know what is good for you...
