Hello, LL! Sorry, I'm late today...I was too busy trying to make Chyna eat this morning to do a condo and work had stuff to do till now :sad: . She's moving around more the last few days even coming to the kitchen this morning...but once test/shot was done she only ate a few bites and then went to poop, when she came out she ignored the fuds. So I added forti flora and she ate another half of it. I spoon fed her the rest right before I left, and left out a variety of flavors in MC. Maybe I'm paranoid, but she went down and she hasn't been eating well nailbite_smile

Yesterday: Chyna 3/30

So I'm at tbp and worrying of course. She only ate maybe 1/2 to 3/4 total of all her fuds overnight, some of each of the bowl and autotimer slots. I wish I knew why! She started in yellow so maybe a bounce? but seems fine otherwise, and usually is pretty eager to eat when I hold the spoon up. I've tried different bowls and locations...I really need to get a look in her mouth, not that I know what to look for.

Hi Rachel,
Mega appy vines being sent - and just plain ol' act/feel normal vines for Miss Chyna. It is so frutrating when you know something isn't quite right, but can't figure it out. And sometimes, things just go back to normal without ever finding out why. I hope that happens for Chyna.

Hope your day goes quickly and you get home soon :-D

Awww - sorry to hear Miss Chyna still not got great appy. If you look in her mouth, there's a couple things you can do. First, take a good sniff. If it's stinky and not cat food breath, that's a possible sign of something brewing. Second, where possible, take a look at the gum line below the teeth. It should be pink like the rest of the gum. When Theo had a bad tooth, there was a little red line of gingivitis below a particular tooth. It's hard to look at all the teeth, much less the inner gum (which I was not allowed to do :evil: ) so it make take a couple sessions. Lots of pics on the internet of what to look for.

You are doing a good job with the fuds. Just a light touch of green, not too low. :YMHUG:

Hi Rachel,
I hope that Chyna will have a better appetite tomorrow. Sometimes these things are cyclical. And she is eating, so that's good. Come on, Chyna, eat yer fuds! I hope she doesn't need a dental, but if she does, that might account for the disinterest in eating.

Nice to see that high green.

Sending along tons of appy vines for sweet Chyna....I hope she's more in the mood to munch tonight. I wish I had ideas to offer....please eat, Chyna!!

BTW, you cracked me up in Trix's condo yesterday....I used to record onto cassettes of the radio, too...I remember trying to time it just right so as to not catch the DJs voice, too! I also still buy "albums" :lol:

I hope you and Chyna are doing well tonight....

Chyna, I hope you are eating better tonight so your bean doesn't have to keep worrying. Sending lots of good appy and feel better vines for Chyna, and calming vines for Rachel!

I laughed about the cassette recordings, too. I did the same thing, and I even went farther than that - I used my dad's old reel-to-reel recorder to record the audio off TV when a favorite singer was on!! How I would have loved to have a VCR, if such things had existed. Okay, now that we've given away our ages.... :lol:

Sorry guys, I meant to post an update but fell asleep on the couch after eating :oops: . I was frantically cleaning her cat fountain this morning at 6:15am as I was worried that it was making her sick, it had some food bits in it and I kept forgetting. So it's clean!

I'm really hoping Chyna surfed for the afternoon and didn't go lower as I only left her "normal" fuds out, all of which were eaten :-D . This morning she had a variety of MC and there were dents in all the dishes (except the tuna one, that was all gone, not shocking for normal appy Chyna), so she should have gotten a good amount. I hope she doesn't get the poops now...I was expecting a worse PMPS. I'm not complaining, Chyna! Supper was all eaten :razz: . I'm wondering if I need to do slippery elm bark twice a day, instead of a half capsule once a day at noon. I really only added it to see if it helped her licking her lips, and it did. I was wondering if she is nauseated, after all?

-Wendy, thanks for the tips...I've never managed to open her mouth before, so I'm not sure if I can now :lol: . The most I can do is usually brush her outside gums and teeth with my finger and toothpaste. I love how you put you are not "allowed" to do, so apt ;-)
-Hi Ella, thanks so much, I know I am a worry wart and she is probably thinking what the heck I'm not that hungry mama. If there wasn't insulin on board, I'd be more comfortable with her grazing :o

-Thanks Tricia, for all the vines. I didn't have a VCR till I was 17 I think? But I also didn't have TV from 12 to 17 (dad threw it out) so when I graduated with my first job I bought a small TV and VCR that I kept in my room. I'd have loved to have that music recorder you had, to edit! I'm almost at the big 4-0 and feel like I should be more like 25...where did the time go? And I tell myself age is just a number. When I was twenty I thought people over 30 were SO old! :lol:

Looks like we've both had a rather strange day today Rachel!

China started out good, then her PMPS was only 86 so I have to wonder where she went while I was gone! Never should have said anything about her staying a little higher when I had to leave! Jinxed myself!

Hope Chyna's appy continues to improve. I know it's too stressful when they don't eat! China did that trick last week!

Surf safely Chyna! China's mamabean and your mamabean really don't want to have any PJ parties tonight!

Hi Rachel - appy and eating vines for Chyna. It is so stressful when they don't eat... weird, but appy's have been off here too, no CPC from any of them. hmmmm... No explanation. I do hope Chyna eats better for you. Numbers are great though.
 
Nice to see Mr. Greenie. My CRF cat didn't have a great appetite once diagnosed but I attributed that to my vet putting her on KD which also led to undiagnosed IBD. I didn't know enough back then. Is Chyna turning down food she used to eat or the new food? They can get really picky. I hope she eats better tomorrow.

I'm glad she's eating again, Rachel. Maybe it was the fountain, or maybe you'll never know what it was (how aggravating!), but if she's better that's really the important thing. Hope you get some sleep tonight!

BTW, we got a VCR when I was in college, but it was my mom's, so I didn't get to record all the things I wanted to. Mark and I bought one when we were dating. It lived at his place, so I didn't really get to record on that until we got married, and then we were stationed in England ( he was in the Air Force), so it couldn't record there, only play tapes sent from home. I know what you mean about not feeling as old as you are (except on cold, wet mornings!). I've got ten years on you, but sometimes I think I'm still in my 20s! Now if I could just figure out how to look like it, too! :lol:
