Well yesterday sure was an eventful day. Thank you all for the great support you provided!

As a TLDR for anyone not wanting to go back for the update, Xander did start eating more at the very end of the night, got his normal dose late and his ketones were negative.

This morning I gave him some more ondansetron first thing. Took him a couple of hours to eat it, but he did eventually and has now eaten all of his next meal. Hopefully things are on the way up! Thinking maybe I should just continue to give him the ondansetron every 6 hours during the day for a few days to make sure he keeps eating.

He also didn't seem to go crazily high despite getting half a dose yesterday, which I guess must be the depot. But still, 288 for AMPS after that doesn't seem as bad as I'd feared and hopefully it doesn't just jump up later.

Happy Sunday!

Very pleased to hear Xander is eating better today.
Hoping that whatever it was has passed, due to your swift action.

Have a relaxed day Brianna :bighug:

Thank you, Helen! ❤️ I hope you're right and this was just an off day and it's passed. I hope you're able to get some rest tonight after all of that work last night! :bighug:

So happy to read Xander is eating again. Phew, you've had quite a day yesterday.

I keep giving Fistuk Ondansetron until he's eating by himself then I taper back gradually. So if I see he's getting worse again it's not a dramatic shift and as Wendy and Elise told me so many times - it's much easier to prevent nausea than chase it.

Paws crossed it keeps on like this.

I suggest you buy a ketones blood test kit if you're worried about ketones and in case he doesn't pee for you again. Ketones develop very quickly and you then have to take him to a hospital.
Paws crossed you don't need it but it's better to be prepared than get worried sick.

Wishing you a lovely Sunday.
Good job Xander :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sooo happy to hear this Brianna! He just wanted a little extra attention last night ;)

PS - Pookey laid with me yesterday how Xander does for you, in the space between body and desk. Hasn’t done that in forever!

That's great advice, to get ahead of it rather than waiting for it to get bad. I could see his appetite not being as good as usual on Friday, so maybe I could have prevented how bad Saturday was.

I'll consider doing that! We can't get blood even for regular testing, but if we have some extra to afford the new stuff maybe we'll grab that too.

Thank you, Shelly! Have a great day. :bighug:

Thank you, Tim! So glad he's doing at least somewhat better today so far.

Aww! That makes me so happy to hear! It makes for such a nice cuddle session. :D

This is very good news, Brianna. I am so glad you had the ondansetron on hand. I peeked at his spreadsheet and it looks like Xander is coming down nice and easy so far from the AMPS. What a good boy. He's taking it easy on you today after all the excitement of yesterday. I like your idea of keeping him on the ondansetron for a couple of days and Shelly's suggestion to taper off.

Xander- there are other ways to get mom's attention and extra cuddles!!!

So am I! So thankful I had some and that that would work for him too.

It has been a nice easy day and for the most part the ondansetron seems to be working. He's eating all of his meals (was just very slow with the middle one between doses).

Thank you for all of the support! ❤️❤️❤️
