Good Friday Morning, Everyone, TGIF!!
Rusty appears to be bouncing a little after his great green day yesterday (or he may have finished his nighttime food too close to AMPS). Whatever, he's happy and we had a good morning routine (test, shot, breakfast). It's a good thing "the Ducks" were set, because the alarm that goes off 2 minutes before the Ducks' quack was not heard by the beans. Rusty heard it, however, and walked over my head to wake me up.
We have sunshine this morning! And 21 degrees with a dusting of snow on the ground. Today will be a day of getting ready for a party at our house tomorrow evening. It will be a dessert and games party and will celebrate something very important to us: "Earth Hour". From 8:30 to 9:30 P.M. Eastern Daylight Savings time we will turn off all lights and other non-essential electrical things as a symbolic way to show our concern for Mother Earth and what we humans are doing to her. This is a world-wide effort and many cities all over the world will go dark for an hour. It should look like a "rolling blackout" from outer space as the various time zones go dark. Our group will have dessert by candlelight. The last few years we have all been shocked when we turned on the lights after the hour: it was so harsh and bright! This year we have party "favors" for everyone: "350" lapel buttons.
Off to bake some cookies for the party (in my electric oven, alas! Tomorrow I'll make a cake). Wishing you all a good day and sending lots and lots of healing vines to BigMac and to all kitties, droolers, and beans who are in need of some,
