Yep it's ME starting a Loose Lips thread! :o :-D

It's full blown spring here in Oklahoma - we've already had to mow twice! Our winter was VERY mild - 3 of my potted petunias lived thru it and are already blooming. I thought I'd share a little 'spring' with everyone else too....

How about a beautiful heirloom Morning Glory! No it's not backlit...the centers really look like they're glowing.

Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by!

Lyresa, that is GORGEOUS!!!

I've been doing yardwork down at the Momster's (whose yard is utterly spectacular), and my early plants are beginning to bloom (even when it snows  )...
but pictures from Idaho are going to have to wait until I get some cleanup done

Binks is a bit "house-proud", and he's not about to let me show how far behind we are :-D .

For those of you who enjoy Gregorian Chant music (and even for those who don't)...I'd thought I'd share a song from one of the funniest albums I own...

Chantmania by The Benzedrine Monks of Santo Domonica...with their particularly hilarious choice of "Chant Music"...
BE SURE TO LISTEN TO THE LYRICS...YOU'LL CRACK UP WHEN YOU REALIZE WHAT SONG IT IS!!

Oh man .. how lucky for you guys to experience spring! We had a taste of it a week ago with temps in the 80's .. now it's pouring down rain and when it's not doing that today, it's snowing and hailing mixed with thunder and lightning! Could it get any weirder? :?

Since I've been stuck indoors I've been doing some cleaning .. does it ever feel like time stands still for anyone else?

Spectacular day here in northern Arizona: 70, not a cloud in the sky, and calm wind. The calm wind is very unusual for us in the spring. Lyresa: that photo is incredible! Thanks for sharing.
Liz

It's a beautiful late-winter day here today: blue sky, sunshine, temps in the 20s, getting up to about 40. The only thing missing is the snow (which is usually still on the ground at this time of year).
Beautiful photo of the Morning Glory, Lyresa. There are tiny shoots beginning to peak up through the leaves here, but that's about all now. We are seeing a lot of migrating birds, however, and now have Robins and Song Sparrows, and I heard a Red Wing Blackbird the other day. And yesterday, flying above the main drag of our village, was a BALD EAGLE!! Great Blue Herons that nest on the Cornell Extension property near Canton are the subjects of a study and there is a web cam next to their nest, which has a huge blue egg in it already!

Sorry Celi: that "chant" doesn't make it for me!!
Devon, I'm cleaning today, too, and doing laundry--my favorite chores! (but just got back from a nice 4-mile stroll)
70 degrees in AZ! I guess your snow is gone, Liz!

AhHa! Memory Moment!

We live in the migration path of the white Geese - huge flocks of hundreds overnight in the marshes about 2 miles from us. Coming home from weekly shopping trip last week across the dam, a huge bunch were just coming down from their high altitudes swirling in clouds of huge birds. They holler the whole time they're coming down - can be heard for miles. There was no traffic, I got to stop, roll down my window and watch and listen for a minute. It's just a breathtaking experience. I could still hear them at my house....listened to them take off and watched them form up from our backyard the next morning.

Alas...still no camera to take that pic....DH's little one will only take close pics. Hopefully I described it well enough to imagine it...

ETA: Here's an audubon society link to a pic of a group taking off:

Phooey, I was trying to post a pic of Checks sleeping with his eyes open and lost the whole post I had written.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, etc

All of my flowering bushes and vines & trees are in bloom and my daffodils and lillies are blooming as well. My other spring bulbs are all popping out of the ground now too. It's so colorful outside. My traveling birds are arriving too. I love spring.

What a gorgeous morning glory, Lyrese.

Celi, that tape is pretty strange.

Central Arizona here

Down in the east valley it's hot hot hot! Well, not that hot yet, but will be soon! We had a beautiful week of 70's a few weeks ago and now it's been in the 80's this week. We're supposed to get our first 90 degree day tomorrow, but then Sunday is going to dip in to the low 70's just for the day before Spring says goodbye and summer pounds on us!

The descriptions of spring really made me smile today. Thank you!

Cloudy and cool today, but amping up for what should be a sunny weekend in the 70-80's. Everything is turning a wonderful green here in MN. There are flowers blooming - a few tulips, bluebells and others. The area where I moved to late last summer has an abundance of tulips, apple blossoms, and lilacs (the apple blossoms are like nothing I have ever seen!). When I was nanny for a family here, I really enjoyed the daily walks with the boys. If I continue to have no work, I hope to get myself out and enjoy some walks on my own...with a child's eye view. It's weird, I keep thinking I have to get out and plant Latte's grass bed. Between the fact that she is not here AND I no longer have a balcony to plant a garden or grass, I guess I will just have to enjoy others.

Im trying to get myself out to do some fun things with all my spare time. Today I made my second trip to our city zoo. I did not take many photos this time around. After having a big cat stare at me for a long time I finally decided to pull out the camera phone. As most cats do when you pull out the camera, it refused to look at me:

Loved that gregorian chant!    I looked up the album and can see how it could be one of the funniest albums you own!!!!

Celi, I LOL'd! I'm going to have to check out their other tracks.

My yard has been pretty neglected over even the very mild winter we had, but I have some purple and yellow irises, and some white roses blooming. My knockout roses have just started to open today. And while the flowerbed is woefully undertended (I'm going to pull weeds tomorrow- I blame allergies), the bluebonnets I planted last year came up. Bluebonnets are our state flower here in TX.

Great pics today! Wow on the big cats, Carolyn! Wow on the geese, Lyresa! (we were camping on an island one Columbus Day Weekend in the '80s and a flock of migrating snow geese landed on the water for the night just 10 feet from where we were sitting. That was really something!)

ohmygosh these are beautiful pictures! all of them - we've got spring here, but it's nearly drowned. we're having monsoon weather - i think we're supposed to get 2" of rain between yesterday and tomorrow. it seriously has not stopped raining since yesterday morning.

2 rivers meet here and they've overflowed the banks. the low-lying farms are flooding. we've had 8 trees fall down or split in our neighborhood, which is basically 4 cul-de-sacs connected together. it's kinda amazing and everyone is ready for it to stop.

lots of canadian geese around here - the farmers loathe them because they eat the grass seeds and tear up the fields. but not being a farmer, i just appreciate their beauty.

we've got daffodils out front, my fuschias have begun to green out, the camellia is blooming, i think the lenten rose is too. spring is wonderful here. of course, it's beautiful everywhere!!

Barb, my deaf white cat slept with his eyes open too. Since I was a small child, I have had this very real uncomfortable fear of staring vacant eyes...it gave me the heebie geebies when he did it. My oldest son did it too.

HUGS to all and good night! I agree Celi, what a beautiful condo this is today! Those animal pics are just SO sweet!

I think a Leroy condo is called for to get the most attention on to this issue.

Thanks  Sometimes I feel that a civie condo just takes up valuable space on LL

Lol on the pic Celi

Here's a pic of a plant I took last spring:

This reminds me of when we first got my daughter's civvie cat Tabasco. For the past 14 years we've had Cini Mini, who has no eyes, and Honey who has 1 eye. Then along comes Tabasco with 2 eyes and it took me months to get used to a cat with two eyes staring at me. It actually creeped me out!

Most of you may not be able to relate to this, but a few of you will:

CATS WITH TAILS!!! OMG!!! They slap with them, caress with them...tickle your nose, neck, or ears with them...
If a kitty with a tail is pist...WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!! And Ceiling Cat forbid you ever TOUCH the tail without a written invitation :o

having lived for 30 years with tailless furbabies...(goggies & kitters alike)- I find the kitty butt appendage fascinating, yet frustrating!
Takes some gettin' used to! And to add to the issue...it's not JUST cats with tails...it's two semi-feral TORTIES with tails!!!!!!
