How does Kai feel when he bounces that high and then drops back down, do you notice any difference? His numbers before hand would make me worry he goes too low. I'm a panic tester :nailbiting:.

I understand being a nervous tester lol nothing wrong with that. My lack of testing lately has been very shameful, but I have had a sick bird that has been hoarding most of my attention for the past two weeks. We have had several late night ER visits :blackeye: but he is doing much better now. Still not out of the woods yet but we are getting there. It feels like 2025 is out to get all of my animal children this year. But I'm ready for a fight!

Anyways, back on topic, no, Kai is never consistent with his behavior when he bounces like this. I think it's because he bounces so often and then has a tendency to clear those bounces pretty quickly. I have learned not to always trust how he acts unless there are signs of hypo. He just likes to keep me on my toes. Sometimes he will act sluggish and I will think "Oh no! I bet your numbers have bounced real high" and then I will test him and he will be in the low blue or green numbers o_O. The last couple times I tested him after he had the zoomies or was very energetic, he was in the high 200s to mid 300s o_O. He likes to keep me constantly guessing. I honestly think he dose it on purpose lol

With that being said, I do believe that the last few bounces in his last couple of cycles are my fault and are due to lack of testing. There probably were some fast dips into the low numbers that I didn't catch.

Right now he is riding a nice blue and has finally dipped into the greens at +3... and by dip I mean cannon ball. Even with the MC snack @+2 :rolleyes:. I just gave him another tiny snack of HC to see if we can stop this run away train and flatten things out tonight so he doesn't bounce in the AM.

Good to know on the not trusting how he acts. I literally just posted a comment about Minner and feeling like she DOES tell me when she’s getting lower, but I’m not comfortable relying on her telling me.

Looks like Kai has some good action tonight! Maybe too good. Hang in there Maddie. Kai and his bird bro (sis?) are lucky to have you as their human mama!
 
We are back up to 81 and I am going to hold off on anymore snack to see if he will rise or level out on his own @ +6. Paws crossed.
