Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Quiet morning here at THoC. The most exciting thing that happened was that Cinco went poo in the litter box (well, that was exciting to me)! His breathing is definitely quieter. :) He is eating okay, not great, but I'll take it. I think he's tired of the two FF flavors that Harvey loves, so I'll have to change it up for Cinco next meal.

Harvey is eating okay today, too. Not up to Hoover, but acceptable.

Numbers are slightly better - more blue - but not where we want them, so both boys got a dosecrease this morning. DH is already whining that the numbers aren't improving. I don't know how many times I've explained the depot to him, but he just doesn't get it.

It seems strange to not have much else to report, but I kind of like it!! :woot:

Lots of housework to catch up on. My sister and her boyfriend's daughter in law come in just over a week for our annual wino weekend in the Sierra foothills. Better get moving. BBL.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

That colour is much easier on the eyes! I like the direction things are moving. Awesome WCRs. :)

WOO HOO!! Happy dancing all around!!!

Harvey in the lagoon and poop in the box!!! Life is good at THoC!!

Thank you for checking in on us, everyone. Harvey wasn't really eating much and after offering him three different foods I went ahead and gave him some Ondansetron & Cypro. Hoover kicked in an hour later, which was unfortunately about +8, so the two hours before t/f/s were particularly unpleasant for both of us (please, Mama? NO!) He's much happier now that he's on his second helping of dinner. So am I. ;):)

We opened a new pen tonight, so I am prepared for an active evening. I have been wondering if the age of the insulin was playing a role in the high numbers both boys have been having lately - it was the last pen in the box. I guess we're about to find out! o_O Could be interesting, on top of the dosecrease this morning....

Thanks for your help in the lagoon today, Harvey. Cinco, we'll see you there soon.

Yeah, I keep thinking I should try just the Ondansetron by itself, but the the combo works so well I'm afraid to mess with it. Some days it seems to work faster than others.

I love seeing good news about the boys! Now, come on and work that juice!! Snick isn't working her dosecrease well, either. May have to do another here in a few days. I can't feed Snick any later than +8 or she won't eat dinner, and boy does the drama kick in. "Mom, I'm starving!!!!"

Probably just some NDW going on....since we can't know exactly how much "oomph" was left in the old pen and you just started the new one tonight (plus the dosecrease) there's lots of choices for old mr depot to consider.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day...and even if not great numbers, improving ones!!

Thanks for the vines, Chris. I must say this evening has been very anti-climatic, numbers-wise. I guess there was nothing wrong with the juice in that last pen, after all. Darn.

Meanwhile, Harvey has me worried. DH called me upstairs a little while ago, about +6. He found a huge puddle of vomit. I was up there about an hour and a half earlier, and Harvey was just relaxing on the floor in front of the cat condo in our room, which is an unusual place for him to be (although he's been going upstairs more often in the past week). I spent about five minutes petting him and talking to him, then came downstairs. He seemed okay. The vomit must have happened after that, as it was cold when I found it. I gave him some Ondansetron and Cerenia, and about 20 minutes later he threw up again - including the meds. I just gave him an injection of 1ml (2mg) of Ondansetron. He hasn't had his regular evening meds yet, and tonight is a Leukeran night, so it's important that he get them and keep them down. I'm going to wait about an hour, then offer him some baby food. If he eats that and keeps it down, I'll give him his nighttime meds. :nailbiting: When I take Cinco in tomorrow I think I will ask Dr. Moore if Harvey's lymphoma can be treated in Oncology instead of IM - I just feel more comfortable there. If she says it has to be IM, I'll make an appointment for him over there ASAP. He hasn't had a big barf like that in months. I'm really getting stressed about him now.

Yay, Vyktor! We are all about pooping in the right places! :p

Harvey did hold down the baby food and I gave him his meds just now. He's eating some more baby food. I'm going to hang out for a few minutes more to watch him, then I gotta hit the hay.

Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

Oh, I'm so sorry about the vomit....gosh, there is just always something to worry about. Hopefully it was just some sort of fluke. Sending more prayers for both boys, as well as for you and DH.

Sending vetty vines for Cinco's appointment tomorrow, hope it's just routine. Vines for a settled tummy for Harvey.

I too read Cinco story, and all about your civvies. You truly are a wonderful bean Tricia to give them all a second chance :bighug:

Vines all around, for da beans and da boys. Anne took ondansetron for a stomach virus this winter and she said it worked very quickly. We always thought the Cerenia took an hour or so with Zener so we gave the ondansetron right before TFS and the Cerenia in the afternoon (3X per week). And YAY for poo in the box!
