When I was at urgent care last week with my sick kitty, I was waiting with a lady who was there with her newly-diabetic dog. Her mom had been helping with the injections but had been using U-40 syringes with a U-100 insulin for two days and she was freaking out. The dog was acting totally fine and I was trying to calm her down. I told her they’d know if the dog was ok as soon as they checked his glucose and that they could bring it back up if it was low, but she was convinced he was dying. I told her about home testing and Relion meters and to find a dog version of this board for support and that it really does get easier even though it feels like the end of the world right now. Hopefully some of it sunk in.
