Good morning all,

It has been a stormy day here in Georiga. Choco is doing very well this morning while I could definitely be doing better. Seems as though the Japanese dinner didn'g agree with my belly last night and kept me up until early this morning. I stayed home to try and get myself back to normal. Unfortunately, I passed out after getting Choco's amps and just now woke up to get his +5. I sure wish I knew what he did in those 5 hrs but it's too late now. Hopefully he didn't travel too low. I think I'll go and lay back down with the heating pad for another hour and then try and get some cleaning done (maybe;). Have a great HUMP DAY everyone! :mrgreen:

Update on Drody and Momo: They are both doing a lot better and have both started eating kibble again. It was funny to see Drody eat a piece for the first time. He put it in his mouth and then tried biting on it with no luck. The whole gumming action must have felt strange because after trying to crunch it, he walked away but a minute later, he came back around and started eating some more. Momo on the other hand scarfed it down. It obviously didn't bother him at. All in all, the glossy look in their eyes from being knocked out has gone away and Drody's mouth and attitude seem a lot better. :-D

14 cycles on this dose and all green, methinks it is time to try another reduction. :mrgreen: How about 0.25?

So glad to hear that the civvies bounced back so quickly from their dentals. They can commiserate together about their abductions and alien experiments.

Choco is looking good! I bet he just surfed the low greens for you.

Sorry your tummy is yucky. I had an odd tummy bug a couple weeks ago. Only symptom was really yucky nausea. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone, I do feel better. Libby, I like your idea and have to say that my skinny .50 really looks more like .25. For some strange reason, I was thinking that very first line on the syringe closest to the needle was .25 but when I went to draw it out, I realized that I was probably wrong. If each line is .50 then the next line couldn't be .25. So my point is, Choco has probably been very close to .25 every since he has switched to his skinny .50. I'm curious to see how these next couple of weeks goes. Just so I am drawing correctly at .25 I am putting the the top of the plunger part right underneath the very first long line closest to the needle. Is this correct?

I guess I spoke to soon in regards to Drody feeling better. He has really just been laying around all day however he did manage to come and sleep in the bed with the rest of us which he hasn't done the past two days. He wasn't interested in any kibble which really surprised me but did eat some wet food so I'm okay with that. I gave him another pain pill and hope that makes him feel better.

You could warm up his cat food and add some water and make it into a soupy mixture. He might eat more of it this way.

i've been mixing both of my cats' food with a lot of water. they seem ok with it - it's like runny oatmeal. someone suggested it, and i figured if they'd eat it, why not? punkin used to have a lot of bladder infections, so water is good. anya used to have chronic diarrhea and with the canned food it's gone away - water seems good for her too.

anyway, just seconding Karrie's idea on the water. tell Drody it's gravy! ;-)

hope you're feeling better as the day has gone on! congrats on the dose decrease!

Congrats on the reduction. Choco's SS looks fabulous!

If all else fails re. food -- think baby food. Beechnut Stage 1 or Gerber Stage 2 are just meat and broth -- no onions -- and are safe for kitties.

Drody actually has been eating the wet food and I have noticed that when I put too much water to where it is soupy, he doesn't really like it so I add just a little water to make it nice and soft. I'm wondering how Choco's numbers are going to look tonight. I hope he got enough insulin and there wasn't too many air bubbles at the top that I didn't see. He's almost following the same path as he did exactly a week ago when I put him on the s.50 dose. His pmps that night was 88, +1 92 and +2 78.

I do put quite a bit of water in Choco's food to where it is soupy. I had a time with him in the beginning and adding the water was the trick. :mrgreen:

Oh boy, Choco hasn't seen blue in a while. Oh man, I know he didn't get a fur shot but I really wonder with those stupid air bubbles if he got a full .25. Obviously not by his numbers being so high tonight. Should I take him back to .50 in the morning?

Hi, Choco looks great. Could the +4 be a food spike if choco is nibbling? It's still a good number and so close to green. You might put "dose help" in your subject line and see what the experts think. I think Choco looks great. I answered your question about the Micro in my condo. It was originally my back-up meter. Choco is still looking great!! I don't have any advice... do you think it is possible you furshot? How big were the bubbles? Which syringes are you using again??

So many questions, I know!!

Dinner didn't agree with me last night either, though I suspect it was mashed potatoes (of all things!) instead of japanese. Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Hi Maria, the blues are low, still very nice numbers! I would not increase in the morning....sometimes when you first decrease, the numbers are a little higher for a few cycles. Stick with it....they may come back down. If not, you can increase again....but I would definitely give it a few cycles first. Choco is doing GREAT! Congrats on the decrease! :-D
 
Christie, I know for sure it wasn't a fur shot. I didn't see any bubbles but it seems like sometimes there are really tiny ones I can't seem to get rid of no matter how much I tap on the syringe. I am using the Relion needles (I think 30 gauge). He has started dropping back down now. Not the mashed potaturzz! I love me some mashed potatoes. :O) I hope you are feeling better. I am finally getting back to normal.

Laurie, I will stick with the decrease and see what he does. Thanks for the help. :mrgreen:
