Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Binx did well at his vet appointment Saturday. Hoping results come in soon.

I poked myself with the syringe this morning… AFTER insulin. Mostly worried about any lingering insulin I might’ve been exposed to, but only slightly. Has anyone done this before? It’s the first time for me.

Safe surfing on this Monday 🤗

Ugh, so sorry that happened -one of my big fears! I have poked myself through the cap, at least twice and I believe I remember that @Seth&Bell has too. But going through the cap would remove any insulin on the tip... If it wasn't through the cap I would keep an eye on symptoms maybe test your BG?

Hope today gets better. :bighug:🍀

Thanks, Laurie! :bighug: Reassuring to know I'm not the only one this has happened to, even if different ways. Feeling okay so far and took the excuse to have lots of sugar today haha

Oops! I'm always worried I'm going to do that. I've pricked myself with the lancets plenty of times, that's for sure.
I don't think there is enough in a drop to matter much. I've read here when others have done it and the response was to eat some ice cream if you become worried 🍦😋
Hope the rest of your day is much less eventful. Love to our little Binx!! Looking forward to a good report.

I've done that. When I was relatively new to giving his shots and was still a bit frazzled by the process, I was recapping the needle and felt more resistance than usual so I pressed down a bit harder. I wasn't paying attention and was using the plunger cap instead of the orange needle cap and poked right through into my thumb as I pressed down. I can still feel it thinking about it 🫣

I've done it also few times. Usually when I'm rushing and trying to re-cap the needle. Never experienced any side effects. But hopefully you're keeping safe and esting lots of sweets today 🤭😉

Thanks, Mary 🤗🤗 I like this ice cream idea! Hopefully there’s no next time, but if there is… I know what I’m doing 😅

I've done it, sorry you got the nasty poke!
I am sure you will be fine, insulin was already given to Mr. Binx!
As Mary said, you now have permission to go eat ice cream! :bighug: 😻 🌊

Ahh!! I guess I’m not alone - thanks all for sharing 🤗🤗 But ouch for all of us 😬 I guess it’s one of those inevitable things! A bit spooked at first but we’re all okay 😮‍💨

Hugs to all your fur babies!

Oh yeah one time I got myself reallllllly good. Somehow the needle went through the side of the cap and went deep into my thumb. No thanks, hard pass on that again.

Glad you're fine. Maybe a good excuse to splurge on some dessert?

Edit: Mary and I are on the same wavelength here :D

Oh boy 🫣 Cringing just thinking about that. Putting it into the universe that that will ~never happen again~

You two are definitely on the same page and it’s the right one 😅

I suppose it's happened to all of us, but I never thought insulin could affect my body. It's the first time I've read about this; I've never paid any attention to my injections before... hahaha... I hope it wasn't anything serious. :banghead:

Everything ended up okay! Like Mary said, it’s probably too small amount, if any, to have an impact. I was definitely spooked in the moment though!
