Good Morning and happy Friday everyone! I just can't thank you all enough for all of the help and support you have given to me! Even thought I have somehow managed to help get Aurora to a good place, I still feel like a fish out of water with this stuff, I'm certainly not as well versed in the lingo as many of you are! I'd like to help others more but I just feel like I'm putting my foot in my mouth so my role seems to be light hearted support and nothing technical. I'm looking forward to civvie Mulan's regular vet apt today to see if the x rays show anything. I'm feeling better after the dermo checking her out that this is nothing serious. Will post an update later. Thanks!

Encouragement support goes a long way. Just to know that you are not alone and someone is listening help so much (at least for me).

Aurora is looking great! Two more days :D

Vetty vines for Mulan. Hope you can get some answers and get her some relief :cat::bighug:

Great news for Aurora........if I can offer a tad suggestion cuz I’ve been in your shoes before.

Once in remission I would:
Test once a week for the first year
Test once every two weeks for the second year
Test once a month for the third year
Test no more then every 4-6 weeks randomly for every year thereafter

You don’t want surprises and luckily with Davidson I was able to detect an abnormal BG level which prompted me to test more (see SS) and then take him to the Vet. I had no idea he had teeth infections as there was no smell and I check his teeth....I’m not a Vet, so no idea what was under the gums......at least I caught it and now Davidson is back on insulin and hoping he can reach remission a second time. Had I given up on testing thinking he was no longer diabeti, he would be much worse..

Good luck and all the best on your OTJ party when it comes.....

Thanks so much! I do take Aurora to the vet twice a year for a check up and we do a dental 1x per year since she builds tarter pretty quickly so hopefully we can stay on top of this. My only concern is her ears - she always has dirty ears and I have had to use tresederm multiple times on her - I now try and clean them every other day to keep them clean but I'm always worried about the ears.

Happy Day 12!

Sending vetty vines for Mulan.

Nicole, Rufus gets dirty ears and had a nasty ear infection last year. I asked the vet tech if Tresaderm was ok to use on Rufus, but she wasn't sure. Does the tresaderm raise BG numbers? And good luck today at the vet!

Hi Everyone!
Aurora's party dress is at the cleaners getting ready for her big bash!
Just got home with civvie Mulan - vet apt went well - she did an x ray and could see fur in her stomach and a cigar of fur ready to be puked up. She said her bronchial tubes were a little off and said it's either very very light asthma or it's just irritation from the winter when she gets these sniffy noises she makes blowing air out of her nose. She thinks steroids are the best choice. She is going to email copies of the xray to the dermo and have her review them as well and have the board certified radiologist on staff at the dermo clinic ( which is also a specialty center with multiple specialists on staff for various conditions and also an animal ER clinic ) to have them review and advise on the x rays. Since the dermo was thinking that steroids might be a good addition for mulan's treatment for allergies she said everyone needs to have a quick chat and early next week we will move forward.
Thanks everyone for all the vetty vines!
