Not sure if this is a normal response to Lantus since it's the first day but all day looks to be a downward trend. I've taken a picture to make sure I am giving 2 units. Thought by now he would be up high again.
It looks like 2 units to me. Did you count the lines from zero to 5 then just draw up 2?
He is responding to the Lantus quickly by the looks of it. Lantus is a depot insulin which takes 5 to 7 days to fill initially. So keep an eye on his BGs as the depot fills.
Are you feeding him during the cycles as well as preshot?
I would get a +10 or +11 to see if he's still dropping or on the way back up.
yes he is on his second can of food for tonight giving to him at 12:30 am or +7.5 Friskies Poultry Platter pate 5.5oz can. I leave food down till +10. Yes he is responding better then I thought he might. Since we are filling the depot I figured he would stay on the high side not drop like a rock. May want to rethink the 2 units?
Hard to say at this point. Some cats have an initial good response that isn't sustained. As long as you can monitor, I would hold this dose unless you see him go under 90. Nice blues tonight.
