Anti-jinx, anti-jinx, anti-jinx....I think we're getting back on track here....anti-jinx, anti-jinx, anti-jinx. Both last night and this morning, her appy has been considerably happier...still a little tentative, IMO, but happier. She's no longer "scrunching" away from me when she's done, and she's digging in rather than just skimming off the top. I'd still like to see her eating more, and more enthusiastically, but she is definitely making forwar progress.

Snuggles and feistiness are in place for the most part, although she again had a period last night where she looked like she didn't feel super great. It always seems to happen in the evening....I don't know why that is. It was a shorter period than the previous nights, though, so again, I do think we're getting back on track.

I do have to talk to the vetty about these flare-ups she gets a few days after vetty visits, just to keep her in the loop.

And talk about spoiled...earlier, she and Zen were curled up together on the cushy computer chair while I sat on the hard dining room chair. It was time for a snack, so they're cozied up on the chair as I'm holding the plate and Zen is bathing her at the same time. What a princess :joyful:!!!

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your ingrown claw experiences! When Noah, Petey and Zen (my triplets....littermates) were kittens, I was determined to get them used to us trimming their claws. We'd trim a few and as soon as they started wiggling too much, we'd let them go and then continue again later. But, one time I did manage to get Noah's quick....he yelped and ran off leaving bloody little foot prints. It wasn't really bad, but it was enough to traumatize this MamaBean into never clipping claws again ! And they are SO good about directing their claws to their scratchers (most of the time), that I never really worried about it after the quick-clipping incident. Ugh. Live and learn. I did used to take our GA civvie, Mario, for routine mani-pedis, so maybe I need to start doing that with Noah. I'll certainly be keeping closer tabs on their claws...

We're supposed to get measurable s*** today, rain tomorrow, and more measurable s*** on Thursday. Enough already with this winter nonsense!!! I'm off today, but want to get my errands done before the inclimate weather begins....

Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

Great news on a happier appy. That is so strange that she has such issues after vetty visits. Sorry I missed all of that. ((((Amy)))) Have a great day!

I think the other kitties recognize that Trixie is a special cat and requires extra attention, from everyone! She certainly thinks so! :joyful:

My DH does all the nail trimming around here, although I have to hold Harvey for him, as he has to be in a certain position or he won't hold still. I sometimes wimp out and have the vet techs do it when he or Cinco is at the vet!

Nice numbers, good WCR, and no tbp. Sounds like a good day!

I'm glad Trixie is doing better and eating more today. How cute she got a bath from Zen while she was snacking.

Good to hear that Trix is feeling better again. Maybe she just gets "shook up" at the vet, and it takes time to come down to normal.
Too bad you have snow, or is it sleet and freezing rain? We're supposed to have our snow turn to sleet tonight.
Drive safely!

We had snow earlier, and now have sleet/freezing rain/rain. It's supposed to warm up over night and be all rain tomorrow, but then temps will drop and we're supposed to get slammed with about 8" of s*** on Thursday. It's crazy!!

Good to hear Trixie's perking up. After all, she's queen of the house. :cat:

Bummer on Noah's toenail. I used to volunteer to do monthly toenail trims at our local shelter. After investing in a good pair of rose thorn garden gloves, I was ready for that task. Not to say it didn't boost the adrenalin when it came time to do the tiny little old girl cat that needed a muzzle and three people to do her nails. I keep some septic powder around, just in case, for the crew here. Acro kitties like to grow toenails too.
