Given the complete and utter miscalculation on the weather that was "supposed" to hit us yesterday (thankfully they were wrong) I found out this morning that Tommy's adequan will be arriving at my house TODAY :-D :-D . I'll be giving the first injection when it arrives. I'm sure it will be cold. Should I bring it to room temp before administering it and when it says twice a week for the first month, is it a general rule of thumb to give a couple days apart or did you all give 2 days in a row. Just wondering. I'm so nervous, excited about the possibility of this helping him even just a little. He's limping and it tears me apart. I gave him his Bupe this morning and his B12 shot. Giving him the adequan won't be an issue will it, given what is already in him.
He gets lysine in the morning as well as Dasuquin and the .2ml of Bupe! Any and all advice is welcome!
Well, I'm off to pick up some cat food and yet another desk calendar (G Girl peed on this one as well  )
Sending out prayers to all who need them and hugs to all :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

When I did Champ's loading doses, I spaced his injections out evenly. Since Tommy's first shot will be today, I would give him his next one on Thursday. Then, do a Monday/Thursday schedule for the four weeks. After that, give him his injection every Monday for four weeks. Next, give him his injection every other Monday for four weeks (two injections that cycle). After that, since his shot will be once a month, give it to him on the first of every month (since today is very close to the beginning of the month). If you don't think the once a month schedule is enough, you can give him his shot earlier. Champ gets his shot every other Monday and that works great for him. Champ tends to be very hungry the day he gets his shot. I always give him his shot first thing in the morning, at the same time I give him his insulin, so his hungry wailing doesn't keep me up at night. I'm praying this works for Tommy!!! BTW...it doesn't matter that you gave him bupe or anything else already today. Go ahead with the Adequan. Don't get discouraged if you don't see a change for a while. It will take a bit for it to load up in his system. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi Lauren, I did the same as Patty :-D . I was Tuesday/Friday. I do warm the syringe between my fingers before shooting (cartrophen is kept in the fridge in the syringe), same as the insulin, kitty doesn't appreciate it going in cold  . I hope it shows today, and works fast!

Sorry about the desk calendar :? . Hope you find a pretty one, and some good fuds. Have a great day!
