I wanted to thank all of you for your support and vines these past few days. Sammy is doing great! I know he is probably still in rough shape internally, but from the outside he is fine. The only thing that has changed externally is that his super soft shiny fur is less soft, I assume because the Lasix is dehydrating him. We reduced his Lasix dose a little this morning and will hold this dose until his next checkup later this week. He is taking his medicine pretty well too. I finally crashed last night and slept for 10+ hours, so I'm feeling better too.
A funny "duh" moment that reminded me to try to not obsess - when I got home from work yesterday, I was out on the screened porch petting Sammy. I noticed that his feet were yellow! I was racking my brain trying to remember if the vet had said anything about these medications changing his fur color and trying to decide if I needed to worry. Then I noticed that his face was kind of green! Ok, THAT is not normal. Then I realized that everything else on the porch is also yellow and green. Duh - it's pollen season here. He loves to roll on the concrete so he has coated himself in pollen. So now I have a happy gray, yellow, and green kitty.
