Nice to see that the gang is sleeping in and that you are venturing forth with your ice-creepers on your boots! Cassie Cockatiel? I didn't know you had a bird (or are you bird-sitting?). What do the kitties think about it all?
Sorry to have missed your condo during our trip and aftermath. I hope that all is well with Checkers. I see you had a 51 yesterday. Wow!

Hi Barb, I hope you enjoyed your walk. What exactly are grabbers? I've heard you mention you had a cockatiel. I love the name, Cassie! It looks like Checkers may come down on a slide. I have Mags talking up a storm. We should get her and Cassie together.

How is that everyone else can sleep through Cassie's squawking? My sister had a parrot when we were kids (actually, it's still alive) that would carry on at the wee hours of the morning ohmygod_smile I understand your pain! I was very surprised to see Checks in green, two days in a row. In fact, I went out shopping, after his +4, thinking it was safe. I decided to go out for more Sheba, since he loved it the other day.

Many years ago, when Susan worked in vet clinic someone brought in male cockatiel, after his elderly owner died, hoping someone would take him. Since "sucker" is stamped on my face, she brought him to me.
Enter, Sundance.
I already had taken in her female, Petrie, when she went off to college. Eventually Petrie died.

Sundance got lonely, so.......
I got a female for him, named her Cassidy. *Sundance & Cassidy* Loved that movie. :-D

A few years later, Sundance died..now Cassie is lonely, and I don't want yet another bird,
..so at mating time, she screams; ACK ACK ACK !
She has a TV in her screened room...cats don't get in.
She screams even when I'm with her..she wants to fulfill her role as mommy.
She lays eggs, and doesn't know they won't hatch.

Hi Barb. Really nice to see Checkers with these numbers. Hope she continues with them.

I enjoyed you story about Cassie. We had cockatiels for many years. We had Adair also and they would take turns guarding the eggs too. Them ale would take daily baths in the drooled water bowl. When they would get bored they would take turns landing on our German Sheppards snout and picking at his whiskers. He would let them have their way. It was cute to watch. Ours didn't screech that much but when they got to talking you couldn't shut them up.

I hope your ice grabber thingies worked and you had a nice walk. Have a great day.

Wow Barb, what a nice slide for Checkers. They surprise you when you least expect it. Glad you got out and about though!

It looks like Checkers could have used those ice grabbers today. That's quite the slideage today. Nice :mrgreen: though.

I bet the cats love the bird. :-D We had budgies with a cat when I grew up - in house entertainment system. :lol:
 
Nice day for Checks! Hopefully he won't bounce as high as he did this morning.

Poor Cassie, poor kitties, and poor you! I hope she calms down soon...
