Purrdy - behave yourself this morning while your mumbean's at church!
Vyktor is doing okay. He is eating much better while I'm home for the weekend shoving food in his face at regular intervals. It's very odd, he'll come out to his food and have a bite or two or just sniff it and walk away but then eat when I follow him back to his sleeping spot and hold the bowl for him
I did have to go further than just hold the bowl yesterday and actually hand feed - yuk! On the plus side he did wander outside of his own accord to pee and he didn't scream when I took him out for his forced walk later (I drop him at the other end of the yard so he has to walk back). He also gave me my first little love bite since his mouth was done
He's also being very loving and I have decided that the most important thing at his age and stage is for both of us to soak up the love at every opportunity - he seems to feel the same.
He has his recheck this week (Wednesday) at which time we will sort out having his US done and also discuss the treatment options for his faucitis. In particular I'm going to ask him to contact the specialist that Ruth found to get his views and also see if the stem cell treatment is an option here. Vyktor is a very independent and dignified cat and does not react well to being medicated so these are things that I will need to weigh carefully in choosing the way forward. I hope I will be brave enough to make the right choices for him rather than grasp at every option on the off chance it may help but thereby create a pile of side effects and take away his dignity and QOL.
[All good things must come to an end Vyktor my love, I hope we're not getting too close yet but when the time does come I promise to do my best to support you in the way that's best for you.]
And to end on a brighter note - whoo hoo we have poop, right on schedule!
