I go to work at 3:30am unless I'm off I can only test when I'm home he's at 100 now managed to pick up syringes

Margaret...is there any chance you can change your shooting schedule a little? If you could work your way back to a schedule of like 1am/1pm, you could get a +2 before you had to leave for work (which could tell you if you need to leave down some higher carb food to keep him safe) and you could also get a "in the door" test at 11am....that would allow you to get 2 tests on the AM cycle instead of just one

On your days off you could get some tests in where you can't get them during the work week

I think so might be better he's at a 32 used syrup on his gums and gave him chicken I find the needles easier to big surprise

I have her feeding some high carb food and testing every 30 minutes Wendy.....She HAD been "learning" from someone who practiced the DCC way of dosing Lantus, so had been told that even when he was low, she should just feed him some plain chicken

I've explained to her that 30's leave no room for error, and that some cats will go into seizures in the 30's, so it's important for her to continue testing as well as feeding some high carb food. She has some Fancy Feast Sliced Beef in Gravy (23%) so she's getting that

Next test coming up soon and I'll ask her to update here when she can, but since I figured it was more important to get her feeding some high carb, I haven't pushed her to post here too

He's back up 63 sugars are back up he's at 72 will be watching for the next hr or so to be safe

That's much better!!

Now you can just test again in an hour (since I know he did finally eat some HC food at +5.5)

Hopefully he'll surf now (that just means stays in the same general area and not drop down again or zoom up) Don't be surprised if he "bounces" though....32 is really low and when they drop too low, their liver will release stored sugar and hormones to bring them back up

I have to wonder if when you were trying to get .5 out of the pen syringe (using their needles) if it was actually giving him anything though. Since he was just dropped .5 unit, having him go that low so quickly makes me wonder if he was getting any insulin at all
