Not much to report from Trixieville...happy appy, snuggles, feisty. I'm not sure why her AMBG is a little higher than usual. Very bad gelcap morning...hisses, swats, growls. The mornings have been bad in general. I desperately needed a BTB before work this morning, but couldn't do it thanks to being stuck in gelcap hell. It took about 40 minutes and 3 repacks to get it down today, and once it went down, she wanted nothing to do with the follow-up syringe of water...big hiss over that. But, she did go to her water bowl and drink right after the gelcap went down. And, of course, she forgot all of about it once it was over with.

Yesterday afternoon, my Dad said he was feeling "much, much better". It's a relative term, of course, but it's a start. He thinks he's finally starting to beat the pneumonia...hopefully he is. His temperature is still fluctuating, but it's staying low-grade, and he does look and sound better. I probably won't get a report about today until after 10:00am EST.

(ETA - My Mom called after I typed this up. He's basically the same...persistent low-grade fever, feeling crappy, lack of appy but he's making himself eat. From what I understand, this is not unusual with both pneumonia and the AB he's on, but it's still frustrating and stressful to not see major forward progress yet. Still, to me he does seem better in some ways - he's more "with it" than he was a few days ago, if you know what I mean.)

Time to get moving...have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

Progress, even in small steps, is progress. That's good. Vines aplenty for your DF's continued progress. And vines for you, Amy.

Trixie! Put on your big girl panties and swallow that gel cap like a champ.

A friend of mine had the flu and ended up with pneumonia. It took her weeks to feel better. We met at the mall then and she was exhausted after a short walk. I think the way he feels is to be expected. The recovery will likely be slow and baby steps. :bighug: Vines.

I'm glad Trixie has such a short memory about the gelcap. :) Hugs to you, Amy. Anne had pneumonia in 2008. It also took her weeks to feel better. Zener loved it because she was in bed all day and he stayed right there with her. :) Many vines coming your way.

Trixie, showing spirit is good, but enough is enough. Mama is only trying to help you, so suck it up and swallow that gelcap!

It always amazes me how short a cat's memory is for stuff like that - they forgive quickly. Harvey does that, too, but he does remember that I will grab him if he lets me get too close at certain times of day - selective memory, I guess!

I know it's frustrating, but your DF's immune system is pretty much non-existent, so it's going to take him longer to recover than the average person. Little improvements are good! Hang in there. Sending him lots of healing vines and prayers, and sending comfort vines for you. :bighug:

I'm sorry you had such a rough morning. I'm glad our kitties are so forgiving. Small steps are good. It will take a while with your dad. Sending prayers and hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
