I think Taffy is bouncing, but then ended up pretty flat today. I thought he may have gotten a partial shot this AM, too, because he jerked away when I injected. This new insulin seems to sting him more often.
I am so confused by this cat. We have been at this dose for a long time and I need to consider an increase, but it makes me nervous that he has dropped low (and late) so unexpectedly several times. Mainly because my schedule has been so unpredictable and my brain fried.
The past few day, Taffy's appy has been down. Eating, but not enough. I am not panicking, just as long as I see him eat and hope his tummy settles soon (there was soft poopies). Another reason to delay increasing. I made new double batch of his food tonight and he barely ate any.
About my insulin troubles, I did some research about "thick" or "hard to draw out" insulin, and it seems that it may be a negative pressure/vacuum issue, which makes sense, but I am still not sure how to correct the problem. When I draw out, the insulin is resistant to coming out, for lack of a better description. I draw back and get air, but if I just wait, the insulin slowly fills the air pocket in the syringe. One forum post (not here, a human board) said that one should introduce air into the insulin to get rid of the vacuum, but I am reluctant to do that.[/URL]
