Good morning, LL ~O) ~O) !
Ripley is still in party mode from the Full Moon Party last night with her buddies.
She greeted me with very-demanding "Where's my food?!?" squawks.

Yesterday when she reached 47 at +9, I fed her a little LC ~ and when she realized that I wasn't going to feed her the rest of her dinner right then and there, a 'bratty' side of Ripley appeared. It was the pre-FD-diagnosis-Ripley: demanding, getting into stuff, chewing on things, knocking things over, staring (glaring?) at me and squawking whenever I looked at her... I had forgotten how demanding she could be when she wants food STAT! It was hilarious! I was enjoying every minute of it! I realized that I spend the majority of my time with her kind of coddling her, treating her as if she's fragile, giving-in to every need because she's 'special.' (Well, she IS special, of course, she's my Sweet Girl!) But last night I got to participate in a fun banter with her, call her names like "Brat" and "Punk," and say things like, "NOW what are you getting into, Crazy Cat?!?" instead of "awww, poor baby. she's so sweet when she's sleeping. no, don't grind coffee beans NOW, it'll wake up Ripley. you want me to spoon-feed you? ok..." I'm sure she was genuinely upset & frustrated about being fed only 1tsp. of her favorite food ~ she didn't understand it was for her own good, to keep her in safe numbers ~ I probably ruined her day in her eyes ~ but I sure enjoyed seeing the spunky side of Ripley. I even got to reach waaay down into the bag of nicknames and pull out the 'ole "Punky B," short for "Punky Brewster." (I don't even know how/when that one came about ~ perhaps during Ripley's younger, adolescent, awkward, years?)
Now, I wouldn't pull that prank again (teasing her with a tiny bit of food 3 whole hours before dinner time) just for my own amusement... or would I...?   ;-)

I wish everyone and every kitty a wonderful day in LL.
Sending out lots of healing vines to Rhiannon's DH Stephen, kitties Noni, Shadow, Mannie, and Gobbles, Birthday vines to Devon, and a big thank you to Carl for posting the pic of the Full Moon ('cause I did miss it).

Re: 3/28 Ripley AMPS 120

   You cracked me up today. Yay for a sassy pre-FD type kitty attitude. You are so right though. We coddle them so much. Sometimes it is good for everyone to have a bratty day. Have a great day Josie!

Re: 3/28 Ripley AMPS 120

Good Morning Josie and Punky! Sounds like you had a lot of fun yesterday, re-living "old times". Spunky/Punky, whatever. Your aunties are proud of you for standing up for your rights  Congrats on the reducie!

Have a fine day, guys,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 3/28 Ripley AMPS 120

Morning Josie, little Ripley was hilarious with demanding some fuds. It is so nice to see them doing former behaviors. Sounds like she was not giving up either! This is her house, and she is to be served! It shows she is feeling good and is the same Ripley. Give "Punky Brewster" some headbutts from Mags and scritches from me.

Re: 3/28 Ripley AMPS 120

Morning, Josie! I swear that Ripley and Blackie are sisters. Blackie, too, can be extremely demanding, but she has learned that she's on a schedule, and that's that. Still, though, she tries. Every day she tries. I totally agree that our babies are special. They know that we're trying to take as best care of them as possible, and as they continue to feel better, their old personalities (at least of them) start to show through. It's always nice to see that instead of the way they were when they were first diagnosed. Revel in those moments with Ripley, even if they may seem to be a bit annoying. All I can say is... She's BACK!!!

Hi, Melissa, "Sassy" is a wonderful nickname! I'll add it to the pile of nicknames  .

Hi, Ella, thanks for supporting her silly catitude :-D .

Hi, Ann, you're right, it is Ripley's house. And civvie Smokey's house. And drooler Marley's house. Hmmm... it seems our pets have forgotten it's really the hoomans' house  .

Hi, Angela, it is always good to see snippets of pre-dx kitty. I reveled in the annoyance  .

Well, Miss Sassy Punky Spunky Pants (say THAT fast 3 times!) is back to being sweet, sleepy Sugarkitty. She gave me a meager little "mew" when it was testing time (very unlike her usual pterodactyl squawk) and gladly ate her freeze-dried shrimp treat, then went back to sleep. That must've exhausted her ~ lifting her head and chewing is hard work. Poor girl. .

Re: 3/28 Ripley AMPS 120, +3.5 112, +4.5 86, +5.75 80

Gobbles & I just stopped in to say hello as we haven't been doing enough "visiting" -- lots going on here....we're sending OTJ vines to sugar cats everywhere!

Today so far:
AMPS ~120
+3.5 ~112
+4.5 ~86
+5.75 ~80
+11.5 ~82
PMPS ~94

Lovely

OT: Spent the day with a college friend. Lilly's known Ripley since kittenhood, and Ripley has always had a special unique cooing meow just for her. She tried getting Ripples to coo for her, but she was a quiet kitty today. Ripley recognized my friend, though (it's been about 5 yrs since she's visited), as she perked up when she saw Lilly. So sweet.

Re: 3/28 Ripley PMPS 94

Very nice, indeed...and it's great to hear how feisty Miss Ripples was feeling today  !!!

Hi, Amy, thanks for the visit. I'm glad her feistiness made an appearance; it's good to 'mix things up' a bit from time to time  .

We are having a very mellow evening. Ripley devoured the 2nd portion of her dinner during her sub-q fluid treatment. Yay for CPC!
I'll set my alarm for a test a little bit later. Super sleepy. Sweet dreams, LL.
