Good morning, LL
!
Ripley is still in party mode from the Full Moon Party last night with her buddies.
She greeted me with very-demanding "Where's my food?!?" squawks.
Yesterday when she reached 47 at +9, I fed her a little LC ~ and when she realized that I wasn't going to feed her the rest of her dinner right then and there, a 'bratty' side of Ripley appeared. It was the pre-FD-diagnosis-Ripley: demanding, getting into stuff, chewing on things, knocking things over, staring (glaring?) at me and squawking whenever I looked at her... I had forgotten how demanding she could be when she wants food STAT! It was hilarious! I was enjoying every minute of it! I realized that I spend the majority of my time with her kind of coddling her, treating her as if she's fragile, giving-in to every need because she's 'special.' (Well, she IS special, of course, she's my Sweet Girl!) But last night I got to participate in a fun banter with her, call her names like "Brat" and "Punk," and say things like, "NOW what are you getting into, Crazy Cat?!?" instead of "awww, poor baby. she's so sweet when she's sleeping. no, don't grind coffee beans NOW, it'll wake up Ripley. you want me to spoon-feed you? ok..." I'm sure she was genuinely upset & frustrated about being fed only 1tsp. of her favorite food ~ she didn't understand it was for her own good, to keep her in safe numbers ~ I probably ruined her day in her eyes ~ but I sure enjoyed seeing the spunky side of Ripley. I even got to reach waaay down into the bag of nicknames and pull out the 'ole "Punky B," short for "Punky Brewster." (I don't even know how/when that one came about ~ perhaps during Ripley's younger, adolescent, awkward, years?)
Now, I wouldn't pull that prank again (teasing her with a tiny bit of food 3 whole hours before dinner time) just for my own amusement... or would I...?   ;-)
I wish everyone and every kitty a wonderful day in LL.
Sending out lots of healing vines to Rhiannon's DH Stephen, kitties Noni, Shadow, Mannie, and Gobbles, Birthday vines to Devon, and a big thank you to Carl for posting the pic of the Full Moon ('cause I did miss it).
