Good morning friends,

Overcast, drizzly Spring time weather here but at least it's not snowing.

The Tribe is doing well, though with some blips during recent weeks.

Resumed Azalea's second round of AB pulse dosing a week early bc of return of the mouth ooze. She continues to be eod prednisolone. She is eating pretty well, is now a whopping 6.2#, and is the only one of the four who really does enjoy increasing amounts of raw included in her daily diet.

Dancer and Bella are rarely not in each other's company, and last night they were more interested in nocturnal chasing sprees than watching sports with Steve.

Spunky's ear polyp is in status quo..not larger not smaller...and with exudations at bay for the moment with a routine of one day the herbal or homeopathic rinse, the next day a goodly squirt of that combo AB/lidocaine ear powder. The day be coming, sooner rather then later, to bring her to a dermatology/ear polyp specialist.

I've had a few tumbles again lately but no broken bones, thank goodness!

Steve is enjoying his retirement and has been working on a project about the history of Connecticut ferries. Also yesterday, the group of small craft wooden boat builders (keeping the old traditions of boat building alive ) honored him by christening in his name a beautiful wooden boat that they built during the winter.

Hoping all are well and we send vines galore and our love.

I'm glad the Tribe is doing well overall. I hope Azalea's mouth ooze gets better. I hope the specialist will be able to help Spunky's ear. I'm still treating Furball's ear infection. It seems to be slowly getting better. I'm hoping it will eventually clear up with the homeopathic meds. I'm glad you didn't get seriously hurt in your falls. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Glad to hear all is well with you guys, despite the few blips. Be careful with those falls - hold on tightly to stuff around you!!! And yes, same weather here - drear and rainy but I could agree more: thank goodness it is not snow!!

I was just thinking about you this AM and wondering how y'all were. So glad that you didn't break anything with your tumbles.

Sounds like an overall good report for the tribe and they sure keep you busy with attending to each one's needs. Hope Azalea's moth ooze subsides. Wonder what Bella and Dancer were up to last night?

How wonderful that Steve had a boat christened in his name. So Cool.

Good to hear from you Sina! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Sina,
The Tribe sounds like it is doing OK. I hope that those few health issues will clear up very soon so that everyone is A-OK.
Neat about the wooden boat named for Steve. I didn't know he is a boat builder. What kind of boat is it? Up here we all are interested in hand-built boats--guideboats and canoes. Edward and I belong to the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association. We ourselves are simply admirers of these boats, but the association has a large number of members who repair and rebuild old canoes (wood and canvas, wood-strip) and who build new ones.

Watch your step, Sina! Wear good, sturdy shoes!

Hugs and scritches,
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) . Ella,thank you!
He's not so much a boat builder...though boats have always been a big part of his life, his being. Me..I was always "rather be in the water than on it" hence the years of long distance swimming.
For him, I guess I'd describe him as inspiring and keeping the passion and history..the culture of wooden boats (and some of his own old wooden boats*) alive and well, particularly in this phase of his life.
Much of the serendipity for yesterday's event is bc years ago he was instrumental in getting the university administrators to include small boat building as part of the maritime studies curriculum and to turn a small empty building on the campus into a boat shop for students to learn boat building from the boat builders of mystic seaport's John Gardner society. Steve often used the boat shop as a classroom during his maritime lit classes particularly when doing Stephen Crane's "The Open Boat." Students in one of the dories, according to their part and where they would be in the boat, and then reading their parts while in the boat. I sat in on one of those classes. It was quite wonderful and brought a whole new way of understanding to his students.

Oh yes, yesterday's boat is a Light Gloucester Dory with the oars and I think also with the removable mast and sails.

* one of his treasured small boats is an adirondack guide boat he found when, many years ago, we went to a knitting weekend at Silver Bay on Lake George. I don't remember if he found it in the Adirondacks or on the Vermont side (because on another trip to Silver Bay he found a ca 1890's duck boat that of course had to come home with us). We had taken the old ferry across from Ticonderoga (?) to Vermont (where the sign at the pier said "Welcome to Charlotte," the "C" having been obliterated and not yet restored. Has that sign been restored?!

It's great to hear from you, Carla. Those darn ear polyps are stubborn critters aren't they? Slowly getting better is pretty darn good! Hugs to you and scritches to Furball and Baby!

Hey, Amy! Yep no snow, but today's rain transformed to mud and plenty of it. Oh well, the rain's good for the plants and the reservoir.
You and my pcp must be psychic! I went for my check up last week and he said same thing: hold on firmly!
Hoping the rest of your week goes well and that Trixie won't be up to any tricks unless they're green and blue!

Good to hear from you too Bobbie. I think of you and everyone here all the time, too.
Am hoping that Bubba and tribe are faring well. Has he resumed his hunting forays?
Luckily, no broken bones but one inadvertent collision with a chair leg caused an ankle bone bruise and wonky toes that still feel "not quite right" (but what does anymore anyway;)?). So much for one foot in front of the other sometimes, especially in the midst of a tumble!

Yes, Steve was quite touched by being honored yesterday. It was a surprise, my role being to be sure he got there on time even though I wasn't able to attend. He was a happy fellow to be remembered and honored with such affection and to see so many friends that he doesn't see as regularly now that he's retired (almost 50 years teaching there!). And their choice of small craft: a light Gloucester dory (I think also with the removable mast and sails) was most fitting. So it was a very happy day for Steve, culminating with Azalea's nightly cuddles and company.
She is funny: at suppertime she either settles in with me or in one of her cushy places but I know she's waiting for Steve to come home. Soon as he arrives, it's settle in with papa time! :bighug:;):bighug:

Thank you Amber:)
Yes, a real Spring will be refreshing for sure. Hope you all are hanging in and that Lincoln is feeling better. He is a magnificent being and he sure is lucky that you're his mom❤.
Axalea didn't have a great day today. Her appy's off and we've been doing the food dance, syringe feeding again. Her dental vet is on vacation this week. But if she's not significantly improved by tomorrow I'll bring her back to reg vetty (was there on Monday).
Hope you have a good night and that we all, each and every one, have a better tomorrow. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Sina.

So nice to see an update on the tribe. I'm sorry my sweet little Azalea's mouth continues to plague her. I am sending loads of healing vines for her and I do hope they arrive promptly and are effective. Good vetty vines are on reserve, should they be needed.

How lovely for Steve to be given such an honor - which I'm sure was well deserved. It's always nice to feel appreciated for one's work. I don't doubt you are bursting with pride.

More vines are headed your way for Spunky's stubborn ear issues.

Please take care of yourself and don't take more tumbles. There are so many depending on you, as well as those that simply care for your well-being.

Hi Tricia, :bighug: and thanks. How are you all doing? How did the floor replacement project go? I hope well and that you didn't over do it readying for it. Our creaky sciatic backs are, what they are and flukey.

Tonight was Steve's "turn" to take a tumble. He texted that his marginal knee buckled and gave out while he was leaving cvs. said he didn't lose consciousness but his head did hit the pavement. He won't go to er, refuses ice packs on his knee or face.:banghead: So I'll be keeping close watch on him tonight.

Azalea was doing a little better today. She doesn't feel great, but the syringe feeding has helped. She does big yummies about syringe feeding but will barely touch the same food in a dish. I have feeling that the early restart of the clavamox didn't settle well even though she's on probiotics, etc. i stopped the Clavamox. Vetty might be in the cards for tomorrow. We'll see in the morning.

Oh yes an update: am I remembering correctly that in one of @Bobbie And Bubba 's condos awhile ago, the subject of escape rooms came up? You have me an "assignment" to try it and "report back";)!

Haven't tried it yet but turns out there's one in the next town! My friend (whose husband passed away recently) mentioned it when I broached the idea of trying it or the mystery room that's in Rhode Islsnd. She wasn't up for it yet but one of these days we will!

Hugs and vines and all good days ahead:bighug::)

Yes, you are remembering correctly. I was interested in hearing how the escape room went. I will look forward to your report, one you have the opportunity to try it. It sounds like a good outing for your friend, when she's ready.

I'm so sorry Steve took a "tumble". I hope he suffers no repercussions. Typical tough man reaction - no ice, no doctor.

Sending appy vines for Azalea. I hope the vetty visit is not necessary.

Tricia, glad my memory is still good! Yes, will definitely update about the escape room. Maybe by mid summer she'll be up for it.
Yes men can be so....typical and :banghead: sometimes! But he made it through the night ok. I suggested that he sleep downstairs but he wanted to be sure to go upstairs for his nightly with Azalea who was waiting patiently and was happy beyond words at his arrival. :bighug:
Have a good weekend, Tricia. Snow is in the forecast for today but we've got.....rain! :):bighug:;)

Yes I did an escape room the end of Feb. lots of fun! Please let us know if you do it!

Sorry about Steve's tumble. Are y'all tripping over the Tribe???LOL! I tripped over Bubba the Jan before last and dislocated a rib. Ouch.

Ouch,Bobbie! Yes indeed there's been quite of bit of that here. But Steve's tumble yesterday was in cvs parking lot.
Somehow he manages to be cat-related-tumbles-free. I'm the lucky one. ;)

Bo used to sidle up behind me while I did dishes. Sometimes our neuromuscular "senses" were a bit untimely with each other ;) (though I'm sure he would have said that it was my timing or lower neuromusculars that were off, not his ....and that'd be true!) and I tripped and tumbled going backwards a few times. I always seem to jar something out of whack in the process. But knock on wood, haven't broken any my ribs yet!

Dancer has taken on the Bo-in-kitchen habits as well as continuing Sootie's top of the stairs perch.

I'm looking forward to trying the escape room. I'll just have to keep wearing patience pants til my friend feels ready to be nudged again!

Have a great weekend. Icky weather here today. Maybe sunny tomorrow?

I used to swear my cats were jut waiting for me to walk across a room so they could zoom past, right in front of me. How I managed to avoid tripping over or stepping on one, I'll never know, but I do know I came to a lot of abrupt stops!

Looking forward to the report on the escape room.

Awww, that totally warms my heart. Seems our Azalea is a true daddy's girl! :)

She sure is a true daddy's girl! Last night she snuggled in his lap for hours while he was reading a silly book ("How to be Danish" ;) hmmm...is he still trying to figure out this Dane after all these years?!;)) to distract himself from emerging shiner compliments of his "meeting" the pavement. They look after each other, that's for sure!

I'm looking forward to trying the escape room and will definitely report in!

Yep, that's Dancer! She'll wait patiently with big wide eyes while I'm preparing their fud. Then soon as I start my awkward "one step and one dish at a time" up the stairs, she races to the stairs, whooshes up while I'm in between steps, inadvertently knocking me off kilter or a dish out of my hand!

Happy Caturday!
