It seems like his numbers didn't change much last night unless he had a late Nadir. I actually got more than two hours sleep. Max was whimpering after I went to bed and I gave him a little more food. That didn't seem to be what he wanted. I put him on my bed and he jumped off. The second time I tried he stayed there and actually slept for at least a few hours there. I did hear him eating earlier so maybe there was a small food spike this morning but there couldn't have been much food on the plate. I was too drained to get up and take it away.

Hi Elise! I'm glad you got some sleep, and some kitty snuggles in bed :-D. I hope Max slides down a bit today, and that you have a good day!

perhaps now with your mom home you'll be able to relax a little bit.

i wouldn't worry about Max eating too close to the amps this time.

I wasn't worried about his eating early this morning. I was actually glad he didn't cry for an hour or two. His appetite is off this morning however. I haven't seen that in a while. I even put some of his ear prick treat on top. He ate a little more after I coaxed him out from under the bed and then got on my bed for a brushing and went to sleep there. He seems content.

I really was exhausted and I don't think could have gotten by on two hours again last night. If I needed to be up I would have had to set alarms. I was even too tired this morning to push myself to go take a spin class and that almost never happens when I've had to miss out on exercising so many times in the last 10 days.

I am so glad that you got a little more sleep last night. Glad your mom is home and hopefully feeling better too.
Hopefully Max will soon do what Freddie is doing getting low numbers and staying there. Does he have other things going on with him too. I know he has pancreatitis too. Do you think that is flaring up?

Max has chronic pancreatitis so it could be flaring at any time. His appetite is a little off so far today so perhaps it is acting up. I think he might be bouncing for a second day but we will have to see what happens tonight. Thanks for checking in, Yvonne. It is great that Freddie has responded so well. I'm afraid after 4 1/2 years at least of chronic pancreatitis Max's pancreas might not be capable of healing. I hope I am wrong.

Is this a two day bounce still or what? I guess we see what happens next. Maybe he wants a break from ear pokes. On a bright note I just tested him while talking on the phone with a friend. I thought that day would never come where it was no big deal!!

it doesn't exactly look like a bounce to me, but i could be wrong. we know that even with all other things being equal, insulin absorption can vary by as much as 50% from one shot to another. with pancreatitis as a possibility too, especially since his appy is a bit off, it's hard to say with any certainty what's going on.

i wouldn't worry too much - save a strip and get a break. i'd probably just get a +2 or 3 to see if he's about the same or going up and decide from there how much you need to test tonight.

hope the little guy is feeling better and eating better tonight.

I guess I test again in a couple of hours. Max is NOT predictable. Oh and his appy is back. :lol:

I sure didn't expect this. I dosed off and woke up just in time to test and he sure dropped. I gave him some food, the rest of his daily amount actually. I'll test again in 30 minutes I guess. I started my next post while waiting to test again. It's so lonely having to test after midnight.

Good catch on that 51 Elise. :o I'm glad he's got his appy, you might need it tonight. I hope he doesn't keep you up too late.

Thanks, Wendy. I had dosed and woke up to test. I must really be tired as I fell asleep watching a recorded show and missed the news.I hope Mr. Max is listening to us.

He ate the food I gave him but is still 54 so I guess I better give him a little more.

Come on Max, you need to go up now instead of down. I just fed him again. I sure wasn't expecting this tonight. I'm trying hard to keep him above 50.
