Here is the link to yesterdays post: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=91915

Jupiters numbers are much better today compared to yesterday. Much better start to my day.

Bought an ice cube tray last night and made some "catsickles". Put 2 in a bowl with a little of the same food around it to see if they would eat them during the day today. Just saw Jupiter eating them a few minutes ago - even though he had the same kind of food in another bowl right beside that bowl - he chose to eat the ones that were still really cold. Now I feel a little better about taking their dry food away - I was keeping it out just at night before since 2 of the cats wont eat the wet food if its not super fresh - but I think as the catsickles melt the food will seem more fresh and a lot less dried out over night. So YAY no more dry food for these kitties!

No more dry food will help improve Jupiter's #s. The others will adjust to the new feeding schedule, too, if you've put one in place. Only you can determine which LC, MC, or HC food is going to help Jupiter bring his #s down. It's all about experimenting with different foods, and amounts, too. Right now, he needs the food, and in time, you can focus on making sure that he doesn't gain too much weight. Baby steps. :-D You're both doing great! :-D

Yay for meatcicles!! Good work! Hope Jupiter comes down from the sunnies for you today - blue & green is where it's at!

Re: 3/28 Jupiter AMPS-307/+2-264

I have had a single bowl of food out for the past week - so if they were eating any - it wasnt much - because the bowl is still pretty full. I am really happy to finally be able to completely take it away as I dont want Jupiter to even have just a bite or two.

We are still mixing his food with a 50/50 ratio of the pate and shreds with gravy.

I did try doing a ratio of 75/25 but he wouldnt eat it so I am just going to do it a little more slowly. Going to just keep adding a dab more of pate and a dab less of the shreds.

I did however find one kind of food that he likes a lot - Friskies ocean whitefish & tuna - not sure why but he will eat this pate without any shreds mixed in

I have tried so so so many different kinds of the LC foods - all different brands of pate - a few different flavors of the nutro chunks that are LC (he would take 1-2 licks of the nutro broth and then walk away) - the friskies flaked tuna - and he wont eat any of these either. Thats why I figure I will just keep slowly transitioning him to the pate.

I am sooo excited to get him transitioned to the pate. I really think feeding him the lower carb food will really help to bring his numbers down. cant wait!

I dont have them on a feeding schedule quite yet. I figure we will work on transitioning to pate and once we have accomplished that we will tackle all of the other stuff.

It's definitely a process. So many adjustments and experiments to run. But you are gonna get there.

You always wanted an unending science experiment, didn't you?

Gobbles & I just stopped in to say hello as we haven't been doing enough "visiting" -- lots going on here....we're sending OTJ vines to sugar cats everywhere!

Re: 3/28 Jupiter PMPS-320

YAY found another food that Jupiter really likes.. FF beef classic....Im using a ratio of about 80/20 (pate/shreds) for this food since he likes it so much and he still likes it!!

Also - just a reminder I still have tons left!!!!!!! (This message also posted in supply closet)

"I have a ton of coupons and I will never be able to use them all. They are only good in the United States.

I have coupons for Tidy Cats - cat litter / Fancy Feast Canned Food / Fancy Feast Appetizers

Please private message me if you use any of these brands and would like me to mail you some."

Jamie

Glad you found something he likes so you can add more of it and less shredded stuff.

I'm thinking one more cycle at this dose and if he doesn't come down, increase to 1.5u tomorrow night.

Both of you are doing great Jamie! Food transition canbe a real headache in a multicat household esp when you've a few dry knibbles junkies there   Ive 21 cats at home. Ive churned them to mostly canned food since Rosy's DM in Dec '11, not an easy task . Lucky that Rosy loves food, she's not picky at all. Hope you soon figure out a most convenient feeding schedule to help Jupiter & the rest.
Surf into the blue zone Jupiter! You're almost there!

Zoey and I just wanted to stop by and say hello to you and Jupiter! I see Jupiter just got diagnosed this month, Zoey too :) Congrats on transitioning from the dry food! Not an easy task at all!

Hope you both have a great day and see some blues! Take care!
