Yesterday's Condo
Pretty much a flat kitty yesterday, which I was happy to see, after no insulin and all the stress of surgery the day before. We're starting off today at about the same point - a skosh higher. Cinco is doing fairly well. Still going crazy with that collar. My temporary solution for feeding works as long as I am there to hold it (so he doesn't knock it over. I wish I could come up with something he can handle on his own. I left a plastic plate of bonito flakes out for him last night, and it was several feet away from it's starting point this morning, with most of the contents intact. Poor little guy must have worked so hard trying to get to the fuds and just couldn't reach them! I saw him trying to get to them again a little while ago and went and held the dish inside his cone, but it still wasn't ideal. I have some errands to run today, so I'm planning to do some looking at Petco and Target to see if I can come up with a better solution.
I finally got a good whiff of Lantus this morning, so now I know what it smells like! My poor, arthritic hands have such a hard time manipulating the syringe to get the dose right (which is why my DH is the designated shooter), and this morning was a case in point. First I got too much in the syringe, so had to squeeze out a couple drops (whew! Smelly stuff!), then I had squeezed out too much, so had to add more. Argh! I think I got it right. Thank goodness Cinco isn't one of those kitties for whom a drop more or less makes a big difference!
Sasha ate her whole breakfast this morning! Yay! We're past the picky morning cat phase (knock on wood), hopefully. She still sounds better - just a little sniffling and some sneezing, but nothing like she was.
Humidifier is still running, and I'm still moving it from room to room as her sleeping spot changes. What can I say? I'm well-trained.
Sending healing vines to all in need, especially Hank, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:
