Yesterday's Solo Act
Phooey!!! I just had to go and screw up Cinco's momentum after last night's BEAUTIFUL surf with a partial fur shot this morning!

I thought it felt like it went all the way in, but then I saw the +3.5 and I noticed a faint smell of Lantus on his fur. I think some went in, but obviously not all.
He, of course, has no idea what's going on, except that he's not getting as many pokes (or treats). I just hope I can get him back on track quickly. This is what comes of my getting up at 6:30 am and trying to give a shot with my stiff, aching fingers while half awake.
Minka did not want to eat this morning, even after her tummy meds. I gave her some cypro. No change. I opened five different cans. No sale. I gave her some Cerenia. No change. Then I syringed about 9 mls of food and she walked over to the plate and ate a decent amount of Max Cat Duck (one of the five flavors she had previously snubbed)! A little later, she ate some more.
She only ate about half of her baby food treat (1/3 of a jar for each cat), but I'm feeling a bit better. She even ate several bites from Sasha's bowl, which has the vitamins in it! If she doesn't eat a good dinner, I'll syringe more tonight. Fluids went well this morning - at least I didn't screw that up (yet - anti jinx). By the end of the 100 mls she's pretty antsy, but we managed.
Sasha ate okay, but she sounds terrible. I am giving her Atarax every 8 hours, but that only helps a little. We spent 30 minutes in a very steamy bathroom this afternoon. That seemed to help a little, too. I am wondering if it would be a good or bad idea to give her some Clavamox - I have a surplus because they gave me more than I needed for one of the other cats recently. It's the AB they would give if I took her to the vet. I know, from the last time, what the dosage would be. I thought I might start tonight and if she's not doing better by Tuesday ask if they can look at her when I take Minka for her acupuncture. Thoughts?
Harvey is being Harvey. Nothing new there, thank goodness.
I trimmed the catnip plant, which was getting out of hand, and I took the pile of green clippings and set them on the floor near the sofa where Cinco was sleeping. It didn't take him long to wake up and jump down to investigate the smell! He spent about five minutes rolling in it! He had a blast, and I did, too, watching. When he was done I took them away because I didn't want to trigger skin irritation. I set them in another room to see if anyone else would be interested, and Harvey visited them twice, but he didn't have nearly as much fun as Cinco did. Minka sniffed them and walked away, unimpressed.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Caturday.
Sending healing vines to all in need, especially Scooter, DoLou and Doodle, and hugs to all their beans, especially Linda, Lisa and Jennifer.
Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Lisa's DF, Marje's DM and Elise's DM.

A colleague offered us a big catnip bush last spring and Zener loved it. He went out in the yard every day and buried his face in the middle. It's one of our best memories of his last few months with us.
I love that Cinco loved it and rolled and played! Made me smile.
