 Good morning,

Choco seems to be dropping into the lower 50's quite a bit now which worries me because I just wonder how low he might be going when I'm at work. I just dropped the cats off to have their teeth pulled so it won't be a fun day for them. I'm going btb for an hour before I have to get up and go to my appts. Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Hi, Choco is getting low, but what great numbers. It sounds like you'll have time for another check if you're going btd. Good luck with the kitties at the Vet.

Lots of people doing dentals today and now your kitties. Hope everything went okay and they recover quickly. Sending hugs for them.

You should maybe ask about food to leave out while you are gone to help make sure he doesn't go low. Maybe feed a bit of MC and LC? I work from home so this is never a concern for me. So I can't really help.

Choco is on a roll

Oh I tell ya, I am just somethin' else. So I was trying to get Choco back on his schedule and tested him at 6:30 (+11.75) and then was going to bump him up to 6:00am so that we were back on track for 6 and 6. Well, how about I tested, fed and somehow didn't realize I forgot to shoot him until 3 minutes til 7:00! I guess it could have been worse and I could have completely forgot! I'm sure he'll be fine but with his numbers being so low, I worry what it might do to him when I'm not here.

The two kitties had their dentals and are home. My kitty had all but one canine removed. The vet had such a hard time pulling the canines out and said the very last one looked fine and she left it. She said his canines actually started fusing into his jaw. :O( He's only about 3. That stomatitis really hit him hard. Drody has always had a huge appetite so when the vet said he may not want to eat tonight or tomorrow I told her that was unlikely. Sure enough he came out and headed for the food bowl. I got him some wet food and he chowed down on that. You can tell his mouth is swollen and he's just sitting there with his eyes mostly closed. I know he's not feeling well because he's not over here trying to get some of my dinner which is VERY UNUSUAL. Poor fella. She gave him 3 pain injections, a steriod injection and some fluids. They are both on Clavamox and pain meds as well. Momo got to keep a few bottom right molars but the rest came out. Momo is an 18lb, black, four paw de-claw kitty that is up for adoption if any knows of anyone looking. He was with a group I used to foster for and he did get adopted but the other kitties ended up picking on him and not letting him eat so he was returned. He was never officially put back into the rescue groups system so I said I would take him and find him a home. I wanted to make sure his mouth was taken care of before he went anywhere. Now that he has had these teeth pulled, hopefully the stomatitis won't return and he will be good to go in his forever home. He's very handsome and looks like a panther. Oh yeah, he's about 6 yrs old.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday. Back to work for me tomorrow but it's okay, only four days to go! Have a great night everyone!

You have such a big heart. People like you make the world a better place. Thank you for helping Momo.

Drodal getting the canines removed. OUCH! That sounds brutal if the vet had to force them out and he still ate? He can't be feeling good. I had wisdom teeth done while I was out. I think they care less when you are out. I couldn't eat anything but pudding for five days. I was miserable. I imagine its worse for him. Sending healing vines for your kitties.

Thanks for those kind words Karrie.

It did sound like the vet had a heck of a time getting out Drody's teeth and you could tell by the way she was talking and her facial expressions that he was probably going to be in some pain. I mean 3 pain injections is a good bit. She said the steriods should be kicking in and helping with the swelling and pain. He did actually come back and managed to eat some of my spaghetti meat so I was glad to see that. The drooler finished off the bowl. I figured Drody would just curl up and go to sleep (I know I would) but he hasn't laid down since he's been home. He's just sitting on the floor looking like he is going to pass out. I am going to see if he'll lay with me. Mama's love always makes things better. :-D

I'm glad everything went well with the dentals today. We have one kitty who has had a couple of dental surgeries and teeth removed. She felt SO much better once she was healed. I hope the same for your two! Sending healing vines for a quick recovery.

Choco's chart is beautiful! So many pretty greens. I know it's nerve-wracking wondering what's going on at home while you're at work. Does he eat much during the day? I know when Johnny is dropping, he gets super hungry.

Hee hee, that is very cute Enana. Poor Drody will not lay down for some reason. He is just walking around looking miserable. I can only imagine how painful it must be. I hate when I can't take away their pain. :O( He is such a sweet and loving cat and even in the pain he is in, he still managed to rub his head on the cage at the vets office when the girls came up to see him and even now when I'm sure the pain meds are wearing off, he is still walking by my feet and rubbing them to tell me he loves me.

Janice, thanks for sending the healing vines because both the boys need it right about now. It is nerve-wracking wondering which way Choco is going while I'm at work. He also seems to eat more when he is dropping. I usually feed him one can of FF in the morning and leave one out for him to eat during the day. Then when I get home he gets one more for dinner and his snacks. I actually need to go test Choco for his +3. Have a great night!
