Bug, one cool dude!

I hope everyone has had a great week. We have been.... well, busy again! :woot: I just can't imagine not being on the go. :) It keeps us out of trouble, and makes for great times. ! I often think back on the weeks happenings, and wonder how in the world did we do all that! :woot: o_O:joyful: It was the same this past week, which rolled into today too. We just seem to pick up and go each day, no questions asked, since we all know FUN AWAITS!
As always I am grateful for all those that help us on a daily basis, friends, people that know us at the places we go, and though I write this each week, still my local barista! It cracks me up when I walk in that door and my order is already in the works. :coffee: I love those peppermint hit chocolate mochas. :joyful::rolleyes: Life is very good!

It has been a good week in the pool. It has just become the norm for us, we go each week, and just never tire of it. It proves to be such fun for both boys, and their excitement with it all has not wavered. :):joyful::cool: hings continue much as they have in past weeks. We are still watching lessons, and this past week Nicholas thought he should take them YAY!! Huge hurdle. Now all we need to do it actually get him in class, and have him want to go on the day set and signed up for. William continues to do well too. He loves it as much as Nicholas, and is very excited when he realizes it is a pool day for him. He is becoming a big fan. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Night were our swim days this week. On Friday night Nicholas and I continue to do out post swim Burger Feast. it still is just as popular with him as it has been in the past. It is such a positive and fun thing for both of us. I wouldn't stop this tradition for anything, or until he decides it is time.
GO NICHOLAS! GO WILLIAM!

William, master of the slides!

The boys and I continue to be very busy. :joyful: We have had a decent weather week too, sunny skies for most of the days, warm temps, with us hitting the 65/70 mark. Spring is for sure coming. :woot: We also spent some time with my MIL Connie, after Nicholas's swim on Wednesday, as she watched William for me. William just LOVES to go there. On the drive over he kept saying: "Connie! Connie! Connie!" Per tradition, after Connie's we went to the Meadowdale Play Park. Another great spot for young kids. We had good weather, the boys so wanted to play, both made a few new friends. SWEET! Thursday was such a great weather day with temps at 70, so after Nicholas' school and William's pool time we headed off to Juanita Beach Park. There was sand and rocks and water beyond imagination. Nicholas even took his first open water "swim", playing out in it for close to 30 minutes. What fun for him! Friday I took the boys on a river trip, up to the Skykomish River near Index. it is a spot we frequent alot in the summer. The river has a special character to ti at this post, draws us back every spring and summer. It is very fast at this location, and quite pretty. Boys had a great time a rivers edge. We seem too to have a new tradition developing... on those trips back from the Skykomish River we past a Starbucks in Monroe. Somehow the car just goes to their drive through and we go home with Fraps. YUM!:rolleyes::joyful::woot:

Nicholas & William: teamwork on the river!

Today we all went up to the Tulip Festival in the Skagit Valley. It is something we have done very year for a while now. The tulip, and daffodil, fields are massive, putting on quite the color display. Gorgeous there today, despite the winds, and some what overcast skies. We eventually has sun. What a fun filled day. I brought along a spare camera for Nicholas so he could take pictures. Nick's Pics ruled today. He took some mighty fine one.:):):)

Per Nicholas: Tulips, daffodils and mud RULE!

For my own personal time, I continue to hike the local trails here when I can. I still haven't made that mountain hike, but all in good time on that one. ;) Tuesday I drove over the Whidbey Island and hiked a cliff bluff trail: Ebey's Landing. That was really nice. trail follows the cost, on a cliff, eventually making its way down to the beach with a few lagoons for the trip back. Awesome day spent, as was the Drive to Whidbey. What a nice day out on the trail. I've also spent doing the local stuff, mainly Meadowdale and Picnic Point.

Normalcy in Three MusketeerVille! :cat::cat::cat: The kitties are doing well. Elsa is still into her game, active, and getting out when she wants, 18.5 years and still making her rounds. I am still somewhat worried abut her, as she still is as skinny as a rail, despite my attempts to get some weight back on. It might be time for a vetty trip... Bug is being bug, my stoic affectionate Mannie wannabe kitty. Lola is well.... Lola. Still my wild and crazy girl. this past week I've had a few nights where she has climber under the covers, and curled up next to my stomach and slept there for a while. She just purrs and purrs.... William and Lola are really hitting it off these days. He is drawn to her, and she is becoming more at ease with him.:smuggrin: For this week: a for sure on that normalcy in MusketeerVille. :cat::cat::cat:

I hope your Caturday has been a good one!

KITTIES!! Remember: BLUE, think GREEN :cat:

Hello Michelle - the weather earlier this week was sure better than it is right now! Love the Tulip Festival pics. I've only been there once but you have so many different colours of flowers. Nick is really progressing with his pictures. Some really good compositions in there. :)

The Whidbey Island hike looks beautiful and you picked a perfect day for it.
Scritches to your kitties. It's so sweet to see Lola and William becoming good friends. :cat:

@Wendy&Neko Morning Wendy :coffee::coffee::coffee: I so agree on the weather! Where did our sunny 70 go? ;) Such a mixed bag of everything yesterday... winds too! THX on the tulip festival pics. It was so pretty there, fields of vivid color! Nicholas had such fun, taking all sorts of photos. It was awesome to see his enthusiasm. I too thought he did a nice job, the had some really good ones in there. He's getting better at composition too, I so agree on that. Such a fun thing to watch. I enjoy Whidbey, it has so many really great places to visit, and hike. The weather was perfect for the day too, what fun it all was! THX on the kitties! William and Lola, what a great pair. :)

Hi Michelle,
What a great week for you and the boys (and the kitties, too). Great news that Nicholas is now amenable to swim class! I hope he enrolls. He'll be sure to love it, once he gets started. His pictures at the tulip and daffodil festival were excellent. I like the ones he took of his shadow (just like the kind his gramma takes!).
The trip to the Skykomish looks grand. All that fast water! Log jams!! Neat.
Ebey's Landing trail looks wonderful. I like high bluffs above the ocean. Love the driftwood (and the rock that looks like a walrus or a big seal), love the bald eagle shots. You have so many interesting places with good trails.
I'm glad that the kitties are doing well. Bug's pic is very handsome. I'm sorry that Elsa is not gaining weight back. It may simply be old age. Here's a link that Linda sent me about muscle weight loss:
http://www.wsava.org/article/muscle-condition-scoring-new-tool-fight-against-pet-obesity
The IM vet said that Rusty's weight loss was muscle, not fat, and that he was actually somewhat "obese"(!).

Have a wonderful week ahead. You are lucky that your weather is cooperating. Thanks for your empathy for my injuries (which are getting much better). I'm sorry that you also had a fall (but at least it was on a trail, not on something as stupid as a driveway!). I'm glad that you are getting better.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. to Elsa, Kitteh Barista: keep that marvelous espresso coming!

It's nice that the weather allowed you and the boys to be outside so much. I agree, Nicholas is taking some really nice pictures. How great that William and Lola are getting to be friends. I hope it's just old age causing Else to lose weight. Some of my kitties that I've had over the years got really skinny in their old age.

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) Hi Ella :):coffee: THX, and me too on Nicholas and swim class. I hope he doesn't chnage his mind between now and the time of enrollment. ;) You are right: I too know he will love it once he gets started. :) THX too on his pics from the tulip festival. I thought he did great. Love the shadow ones too. And the ones he took of his feet. :woot: Yes on the trip to Skykomish. It was moving do FAST! Nicholas made sure he knew how far out he could go (not much!) and asked several times. it was great that he was aware. The log jam has grown alot since the last time I was there. I love Ebey's Landing, as one can do it all year round, the area is so interesting. There were alot of eagles out that day. I really enjoyed the one that let me get so close, like 20 feet. THX on the link from Linda. I hope that is all it is with Elsa: just old age, and muscle loss due to that. I know it affects us humans, imagine it can for cats too. oh wow on Rusty! obese?? no.... very interesting. THX too on the injury, slowly it is improving, some deep tissue bruising it taking time to heal, but all is much better. LOL on the driveway vs a trail :)
Auntie Ella! Got you covered! See ya tomorrow morning, Please tell the weather to warm up, it is so cold there..... ~~~ Elsa, kitteh barista

@carfurby Hi Carla :):coffee: I so agree! They love being outdoors, and well this past week allowed for some really nice places to go to ad enjoy all that sunshine and warm. We had so much fun! I think so too on William and Lola. I am so gad that Lola lets him try and pet her, a relief! THX on Elsa, I hope that is all it is too. She seems fine otherwise, gets around fine, so we keep watching making sure there aren't signs of something else.

Hi Michelle--Well, it sounds like Nicholas may be wearing down- fingers and paws crossed that he will take the plunge! I love those pics that he took- so fun to see a little one's perspective! As always, gorgeous pictures, wow on the Skagit Valley- you were there yesterday? We almost went, but it looked too dicey! Gorgeous pictures!! Now I will have to get up there, once the sun comes back LOL! :woot: Yikes on the boys in the river already---seems way too cold!

I love that William is forming a bond with Lola- how precious!! :joyful::joyful:Have a great evening!

@Tiger and Ruth Morning Ruth :coffee::coffee::coffee: I so hope on Nicholas. I know he'd love it if he'd just give it a try. Getting over the hurdle of saying OK is the tough part. Me too on his pics. Half the fun of his photo adventures is seeing things from his perspective, and what he chooses to take photos of. He had such fun with it. Yupp, we went to the festival on Saturday, morning, were there by 9, and beat most of the crowds. The weather was OK, cloudy at first, but we did get sun breaks too. Winds were a factor when we started, but they died down soon after we got there. and well then there was the mud.... we have learned after many yeas of going that one needs boots.:rolleyes::woot: LOL, and I know on the rivers and the boys. Juanita Beach, though still a little cold, was not nearly as cold as the Skykomish on Friday. Ok with boots, but Nicholas wanted to venture on in, no boots. He lasted about 15 minutes before it really was too cold. What fun though with those 15 minutes. :joyful: I think so too on William and Lola. A freindhsip in the making.

@Vyktors Mum Morning Serryn :coffee::coffee::coffee: ah.... bet it is afternoon there.... Oh yes, the tulips are. It is fields of color, and very petty! I often wonder if that us how Bug got his name, he is as cute as a bug, a real "love bug" too. :joyful:

@Vyktors Mum lol, and yes, definitely the later! I will have to address that issue with Elsa. Being the savvy entrepreneur that she is I bet she'd think it was a great idea. Hmmmm... might have to hire an assistant to keep up with the demand. :woot::smuggrin: CHEERS!

Great pictures and whew, I am worn out after reading all you did. Great fun for everyone. The boys sure do have a lot of energy. Have a great day Michelle!
