Sorry I had to jump off the Board yesterday before I could respond to everyone's posts, I had to go to work.
I wanted to thank everyone for your support and suggestions, I REALLY appreciate it. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
@Squalliesmom @Bobbie And Bubba @Taffysmama @Mandarin'sMom @Julie and Eleanor @Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) @Gill & George @Amy&TrixieCat @Sandy and Black Kitty @carfurby

I went to the butcher yesterday and got some ground chicken thigh and ordered some EZ Complete. Today after work I got the SEB and Florastor.
So far Uncle's appetite is so-so, he seems to like the chicken alright but I have to jump start his appetite. He's got really loose stools with diarrhea at the tail end ;):(

If his appy doesn't perk up, ask your vet for cyproheptadine. It's very safe and it really helps. Squallie is on it, as is my IBD girl. Squallie will probably be on it for the rest of his life, he has that elderly cat iffy appy. (Of course, right now he's so fat no one would believe that!) Candy was on it to try to help bring her weight up, but I'm afraid to stop it because I'm worried she'll lose what she has gained. She still only weighs about six pounds.

Oh yeah, I've seen a lot of people on the board talk about "cypro". I will ask about it if he really won't eat. Today, once I got him going he is finishing up.
It's so strange, Uncle used to be a real hoover and has been dealing with constipation for the past year. I've not had to deal with any of this with him before.
I've been giving him just the plain raw chicken since yesterday afternoon and started the Florastor tonight.
I'm glad to know the cypro is safe and helping Squallie and and Candy! Might need it soon.

Barbara, I second vouching for cyproheptadine - I only give it after I've given cerenia and ondanasteron - but it reliably works within an hour - sometimes it works too well and Murphy wants to eat and eat and eat
One thing I have noticed is that if I give it several days in a row, it seems to lose effectiveness -
fingers crossed for dear little Uncle

Taffy's appy def goes sown when he has tummy trouble (as indicated by poopies). He eats, just less. The probiotics (S. Boul) will hopefully help Uncle feel better quickly. My guys are not fans of the EZ Complete, but many cats love it. If Uncle does not like, there are a couple other completers available. I use Carnivore Raw and Alnutrin, alternating.
