3/27 Moe: AMPS=363, ns, vet this morning

The vet visit was really strange. They are not allowing anyone into their building, so when I got there I had to call and let them know. A tech wearing a mask and gloves came and got Moe while we waited in the car. About 20 minutes later the vet called me to discuss her exam, then the receptionist called and took my credit card info for payment. And then they brought Moe, a new antibiotic and my receipt back to my car.
Final result: they got blood and urine samples to run all the tests. He had a slightly elevated temp, so I got another antibiotic (zeniquin? I don’t have it with me) to give while we wait for the urine culture. This is in addition to the Flagyl he’s currently getting. Blood panel and cobalamin results will be back in a couple of days, urine in 4-5.
 
Did the vet say no insulin this morning? Typically cats undergoing anaesthesia, who cannot have food, get at least a half dose. Insulin dose more in the body that counter carbs in food. It's especially important with kitties in higher numbers. I used to try to get the appointment at the end of the day, so Neko at least had brekkie and her shot in her and it was still quite a few hours since food for the blood draw. Usually they bend the rules a bit for diabetics. Poor Moe without food.

Paws crossed for good vet results and hope that AB licks whatever is bothering Moe. :bighug:
 
Ugh. Just tested Moe’s glucose at would be amps+10. 529 On the Relion meter. No glucose this morning since he had bloodwork done. He will get 2.5u in two hours.
 
He's probably got some inflation from vetty visit stress in there too. No worries, he'll get back on track, except you get a better sleep tonight.

Yep, she said no breakfast and no insulin. He got to eat at about 9:15, so about 13 hours.
