trying out monoject. i like them but no difference with the bubbles. every day we have a bubble/s. i still feel bad abt the waste of insulin, and a little concerned bc im not positive larry gets exact dose each time bc after 2 or 3 attempts of expelling the bubble i dont feel i should keep drawing up insulin and wasting it. i wish there was a better/another way. have watched the videos and followed all the rules. i go very slow. helps a little but still always there.


ETA regarding PMPS do we hv a miracle?? our 3rd yellow ps in 3 days. dont wanna jinx it.

Hon. You're going to waste insulin one way or the other. Either its going to lose its effectiveness and you're gonna toss it or you're going to shoot some out getting a bubble out. And you really can't suck it all out of the pen with a syringe. Even humans using the pen as a pen can't use it to the last drop. In fact for a year I kept Musette in insulin on just what mom had left in her pens when she could no longer get the pen to dial down anymore and she took 80units a day.

ok, ty mel. we have almost finished a pen. it just seemed to go so fast. if its alright, tho, i am glad.

this is pretty much how much insulin I trash on average even shooting two cats at the end of a pen because its lost its punch.

And I always overdraw by at least a unit or two.

You know if you're at the end of a pen it might be the reason his numbers are high. Sometimes a fresh pen makes all the difference in the world.

hmm i cant tell how much that is? looks different than mine.
i have about 60 units left.

Lol it looks different because its Levemir instead of Lantus. I personally haven't used Lantus in about 4 years on a regular basis. Not since Maxwell went OTJ back in Nov 2010.

Its about 10-15u left

Keep on keeping on Pam and Larry! I'm nearing the end of my first Lantus pen and I've started to wonder if it may have lost a little potency, so I'm trying to keep an eye on it.
