3/27 Information on what's safe & not safe to feed your cat

I don't see anything wrong with feeding a cat a food with meat by-products. Or many of the other ingredients that are listed as no-no's for cat feeding. Thickeners, coloring, preservatives, and lots of other ingredients this lay person says to avoid are in too many cat foods to avoid.

People's budgets are a factor. They feed what they can afford. Especially in this day when 1 in 4 people have lost their job due to the covid-19 virus.

So, could you please tell us what cat nutrition training this person that writes this blog has? Sounds like mostly personal opinion to me. What scientific training and double blind scientific studies has this person conducted themselves? What courses in cat nutrition has this person taken?

Looks to me like they are a cat rescue organization. They must have a huge budget, to be able to afford to feed only those selected foods to all the cats that come through their doors. Dr. Elsey's dry food is expensive. Most shelters are happy to have whatever food people will donate to them. That is reality in this world.

This blog you linked to, not so much someone living in the real world.

Glad you are able to afford this very restrictive listing of what a cat can eat. Many folks here can not. Can not feed their cat those expensive foods recommended and still afford to treat their cats and afford a place to live. And take care of all their other needs.

I posted it for anyone who would like the info. That's not saying I can afford to follow it! I've been on disability for 20 yrs & I've been alone for a lot longer than that. I became vegetarian so I could afford to feed my cats a raw meat diet. Car is 20 yrs old & I can't afford cable TV or a Cell Phone. Most of my small income goes to take care of my 2 cats. I'm going to be 74 yrs old & do not go to a doctor & do not take any meds

You shouldn't assume things about me. I was trying to be helpful .:)
