If you haven't figured it out, Elian is a bouncer! Bounces happen either because a cat drops into low numbers that he's not used to or when there's a fast drop. Elian dropped almost 400 points from AMPS to +4. That constitutes a fast drop. His liver and pancreas went into panic mode. As a result, he bounced back into high numbers.
I'm not sure what your feeding schedule is. You might want to consider front loading the cycle, if you're not already doing so. By that i mean giving Elian all of his food in equal amounts at pre-shot, +1, +2, +3, and +4. It may help to slow things down. If you do opt to alter your feeding schedule, don't expect overnight miracles.
