Thanks for cheering Vyktor on Barb, I hope Checkers comes down to play with him soon. Checkers is so gorgeous but I'm glad I'm not emptying his lb at the moment

Re: 3/27 Checkers amps~271 +2/281

Hi Barb,
Are you giving Checkers some FortiFlora to help with those contributions to the litterbox??

It's great to see that yellow this morning. Keep getting those better numbers, Checks!

Have a fine day. Is it cold there? We had 14 degrees this morning!

I'm glad that Checkers is feeling better after his dental and Hopefully the Fortiflora will help.

You asked about the phosphorus numbers of the food that we give Tess a few days ago. Phos is even harder to work out than carbs, I think. Unfortunately the different food lists use different ways of listing info. I try to find the same food on both lists to get a reference (Wellness Turkey is 200 mg/100kcal on J&B's list and 1.05% on Tanya's list). Tanya's list uses Dry Matter results not Metabolized Energy like J&B, but I'm not sure how to translate DM% to the mg/100kcal for phosphorus that is shown on Janet & binky's list. Tanya's list shows the Purina NF as .55% on a Dry Matter basis, not the .15% (min) Guaranteed Analysis that Purina claims. Anyway, the Purina site lists ".15% min", they are only showing the Guaranteed analysis , which is only one end of a range and therefore really meaningless. Especially since we are interested in the maximum amount of phosphorus! Another comlication w/ that one is that the Purina foods are only listed on J&B's old list and there is apparently a new formulation! ohmygod_smile

After writing all this I think I have just made matters more confused! Cut to the chase, I try to find food for Tess that is 1% or less on Tanya's list or under 200 mg/100kcal on Janet and Binky's.

Thank you Ann. I'll respond in your condo.

This is for lev users. I'll go to their condos too.
How can I know Checks' nadir, when he is so wonderfully flat?
Right now, I'm blaming the higher numbers on the clindamycin, with sugar in it.. When that's done, I hope to have lower flats.

His acupuncture appt is next week. That's going to be an unpleasant 45 minute ride for him, even in a large carrier/crate.

To get his +7 test, I leaned over his sleeping body, and was whispering sweet nothings to him, and he started purring in his sleep.
Oh Lord, the love I have for him, brings a tear to my eye.

And that brings a tear to mine, Barb!!!! I am sure he knows what a lucky, lucky boy he is. And you are such a GREAT mama!!!

On the lev question.....ECID and some of our lev kitty's have discernible nadirs. I think it's sometimes difficult to pinpoint the nadir when they are flat and if they get any overlap. All that is good. I try to not get too wrapped up into when the nadir is because I do think they can shift and if you have bounce-clearing going on or you are managing with food, then it's hard to see. I never could get a handle on Gracie's nadir on lantus. With lev, we know that there are two times when we have to worry about how low she goes: around +3/+4 (which is +15/+16 from the previous shot) and again when she onsets at +7/+8 from the current shot. She's not always low at those times...last night she was lowest
at +5 and then went up, then onset. Lots of head scratching here. So....we just try and keep her as flat as we can and don't think alot about it.

I agree with Ann and that's what I try to do with Gus....exactly as she said! She's a smart lady!

Have a great day!
