Sid has been having some good levels lately (for him, that is), but I've noticed he has still been at the water dish a lot and still urinating a lot. I'm thinking he has developed a UTI or kidney infection. I hope not but at least then meds could get him better. I
plan to catch a sample for the vet tomorrow. Tonight when I tested his urine on the ketone strip, it looked a tiny bit pink but I wonder if that could be from blood in the urine? On the ketone meter he was at 0.4. My second question is would fluids help if he does have a UTI? I think they would and I'm going to give him 40ml in a bit.
Over the weekend, his appetite seems to have decreased a little and I was worried. Last night it perked up again and today it has been pretty good. It might have something to do with the fact that the kitten food that I thought was Special Kitty Select was actually Special Kitty starter so for kittens.... He liked it so that's what matters.
