All P's in place for Mags this morning, and she is in a playful mood! Today I hope to get caught up on telephone calls and cleaning - ugh! I am running out of ATrak strips and will start to use my Relion meter once the strips are gone! The ATrak strips are getting so expensive with testing so often, I have a bill waiting to be paid with a charge of three bottles of strips. I also just bought a bottle of strips from the Vet and now need another bottle. I thought this second time around was going to be a short time, but I don't think so, at least not in the near future. For those of you who use Relion or Confirm, which is the better meter, or are they about the same? Is Confirm an updated version of the Relion? I've always felt the Relion read unusually low, but I could be mistaken. I was thinking of going on Health and asking but first thought I'd check here. The only downside may be with Walmart not having the strips in stock. Thanks for any opinions.

Re: 3/26 Maggie AMPS 158 ATrak

Morning Ann - No clue on the meters, as I haven't used them. sorry....

I can relate however to the expense of the strips - I have a couple of backup meters that I really like, but they will remain backup, as their strips are so bloody expensive!

Hope Maggie has a great morning cycle today - decent start! maybe the greens later Maggie?

Hey Maggie! guess what !?!?!?! Rusty is headed to the big city tomorrow - we are going on a roda trip to visit! Remember the hot dog stand raid? sweet - we need to repeat that... and hey - he says we can go to central park too! You in? Hope so - we leave tomorrow... ~~ Mannie

Relion is the brand - there is the ultra touch and the confirm isn't there? Sorry its a us thing. I love the Relion Confirm!!! LOVE! It measured very close to the accucheck aviva nano that we bought first (Canada remember). The relion confirm uses a drop of blood (3 whatevers) and sips up in a split second. Love it. I never get errors. And the strips are cost effective.

Others will comment on what they use. As we are in Canada we don't have the options or the pricing that you guys do down there. You may want to change your subject to note you have a question about meters.

You're right, Karrie! It is the Relion Confirm, as I remember seeing it at our Walmart. That's great to hear how much you love it!

we love our Relion Micro...uses the same strips as the confirm...

Miz Manxie...the kitties are going on a horse & buggy ride n Central Park...you in?

Hi Ann & Maggie,
The ReliOn Confirm and Micro (Walmart) cost the same ($9) and use the same strips ($20 for a box of 50). I have them both and they read very close to each other. The older ReliOn model is the Ultima. It uses different strips and requires a larger blood drop. Recently I got a FreeStyle Lite and it sips up blood even faster than the Confirm and Micro. Strips are a bit more expensive, but American Diabetes Wholesale has great prices on the meter and the strips. Check them out online: http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/
When I checked the FreeStyle Lite and the ReliOn Micro on myself, for comparison, they had virtually the same reading. I like the Micro, but I absolutely love the FreeStyle Lite!

Hi Ann; no advice on the meters but looks like some others had some good thoughts for you. Nice day for Maggie. Hope you got your stuff done :-D

The Confirm is our backup meter, and we LOVE it. I'm seriously thinking about going back to it once I run out of advocate strips, but the advocate ones are so cheap, so we'll see.

Maggie is looking great today! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
