Unemployment leaves a lot of time on my hands  ....

Some of you may have seen this on Tippie's fb group or fan page. For those who have not, be prepared for full on dizziness!

She has a FB group that anyone should be able to join:
http://www.facebook.com/groups/213974755301744/

and a newly developed FB fan page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Adventures-of-Tippie-the-Foster-Cat/118716434879177

Those who may be wondering....she is still my foster, tho I have inquired about adoption in case I ever land back on my feet again (financially/job-wise). They are currently keeping her off the adoption list, as she continues to get used to having one eye ;-). Despite not being available for adoption, she has received a great deal of promotion from the rescue. I am really surprised no one has stepped up and asked about her. She will require a dedicated and relatively stable, quiet bean with no other pets. Unless, or until a better situation comes around for her, she can consider this her home. cat_pet_icon

I am really glad to not only have some time, but that I am also feeling better about checking in more regularly with my LL family. In the past it just brought up too many memories of Latte. Memories I did not want to remember (like flashbacks). It is getting better....thank goodness! When it does get hard, I just look at Tippie and know had I not shared the journey with Latte, she (Tippie) would not be here with me now. And, she would not be so spoiled!

Temps have dropped drastically here in MN...rainy, windy. Blah! I hope the sun is shining for someone...somewhere! :-D

Great video! She should be ready for a nap now. I get tired just watching her. What fun to have a young cat.
BTW, Calli has a lot of those same toys.

Adorable video! I don't think tippie is going to have any problem having just one eye :-D I do hope that she finds that puurfect forever home one day, whether it be with you or another bean ..

The sun is shining here in MI, but the temps are much colder this week then last week .. barely breaking into the 40's vs the 80's we had last week!

Hi Carolyn, The baby is sleeping. I should be reading a novel, but I'm checking in. I'm glad you are reaching a new stage in your mourning process. Try to enjoy the bad weather- have a cocoa and read a book "with me!"

That video made my day> Tippie always puts a smile on my face. I couldn't imagine the last year without LL and the Loose Lips condo also. I'm approaching one year without Maverick and starting to get a bit blue. I've never thought about monthly anniversaries but for some reason one year is weighing on my heart. Tippie is here to give my heart a much needed boost today.

You are very good with the video software. What do you use?

And how are the kitty cubes in such good shape? Are they brand new? Where did you get that feather?

Hi Carolyn,

I got exhausted watching that adorable little Tippie. I have certainly missed quite a bit in my absence from LL.
I am sorry you still have some bad days.....Latte is forever in our hearts.

Take care. :YMHUG:

((((((((Karrie)))))))))))
Where does the time go??? I'm not big on anniversaries either. Somehow our hearts and souls can really latch on to those dates, despite our best intentions to ignore. Many years ago, I suffered a great loss (before Latte). I brushed it off, thinking it was not as big as it really was. One year later, to the exact date, I was in the hospital and almost intubated because I could not breath. I had developed asthma. Later, I learned in some cultures, they believe late onset asthma can occur due to unresolved grief. Coincidence? Who knows. It really made me consider how our bodies/physical health are connected emotions. I guess this time around, I opted to let the grief be what it was, no matter how long the process. It has truly stunk, and I know I'm not done. But it is better. And, since Latte has left...I have only had ONE major asthma attack...totally unrelated to anything but exposure to some pretty harsh chemical smells.

On a brighter note ;-)
The cubes....
This is what they look like today!
ry%3D400

The one in the middle I got about a month ago after she STARTED destroying the one on the end. As you can see, she is beginning to work on that one now. She absolutely LOVES the extra large holes she made in the old one.

ry%3D400

The blue one I got for Latte about 2yrs before she left. It is 4yrs old. She never really played in it, but my other foster Duchess, and now Tippie have put a lot of playtime into it...and it is still in tip top shape! I think they are making them cheaper now. Considering the Target cubes the next time I need to purchase some. These are from Walgreens.

CiniMini....Tippie has been ooogling over you all day! ;-)

Thanks for the likes on her FB fan page!

heeeheee carolyn - after seeing that video of tippie . . . well i'm thinking you've already given her the perfect home! why would anyone take her from you? if you really wanted to adopt her out (although i don't think you do) you could come up with a sadder environment for the video where she looked neglected and needing of rescuing. as it is, she looks absolutely happy happy happy! :-D

the cubes are awesome, even shredded! ;-)

it is odd how dates stick in our minds, especially ones that you don't want to remember.

karrie, we remember maverick with such joy. the video of him talking to you was so sweet. perhaps doing something special for yourself on that day to celebrate all the wonderful times you shared would help you cope with the anniversary.

thanks for opening the LL condo today, carolyn! we need one every day - trying to encourage people to chat here so the kitty condos stay on topic.

punkin has become a box addict. he absolutely LOVES curling up in the box i've set in the living room for him. i had no idea he'd like something like that. now i feel a little badly i never put one out before.

Awesome video! I particularly love the cube/track ball segment - how creative! I'm going to have to get my cubes and trackball set up like that for my civvie, Frankie...she would LOVE it!

Carolyn. Sorry, I don't keep up on facebook. I just don't have the time.
I LOVED the video. You are talented, young lady ;-)
Tippie looks very shiney and healthy, and I'm glad she has you :YMHUG: :YMHUG: and more :YMHUG:
I had to look real close for a long time, as I thought I kept seeing two eyes a shining. I think she is doing fine :-D

((((((Carolyn)))))) I am glad your heart opened up to being a foster. You have so much love to give and look at the love you are getting from that doll of yours.
Wow on the asthma. That makes a lot of sense that your body felt what your mind wouldn't deal with. I've blocked the grief big time. I know I'll have to deal with it eventually.

OMG the cube made me laugh out loud. I never imagined they'd be that bad. Tippie rocks! Victoria has bent them but hasn't shredded them LMAO.

I think Tippie was heaven sent. I think the same for the three I have now. It took me a while to really realize that though. Not until I lost Nike at Christmas. They were meant to be here.

Sending you big hugs. Thank you for sharing Tippie with us.

Love the video :-D

Those cubes look like the modular kitty playground thing I had for Leroy and Emma before it got destroyed. Nylon doesn't hold up well to cat claws.

Leroy got his last dose of antibiotic today  And an hour later he started lip smacking/gaspy coughing ohmygod_smile Dr. B will want to try prednisone now :-| Should I worry about steroid-induced FD? nailbite_smile Or does that occur if a cat is on junky dry food and the pancreas is already overworked?

Emma had extreme zoomies last night  She would not stop running around or jumping on things or knocking stuff down @-) She even pounced on Leroy who was on the bed semi-dozing and got him running after her for a bit. And she nearly knocked over Squishy   I flew out of bed and grabbed her before that could happen  I need to get a glass door display cabinet/bookcase to safely house Squishy in.

Hi Everyone,

Carolyn, I loved seeing the Tippie games again. What energy she has! I think she has found her furever home!! Rusty's cubes are all misshapen, but the only holes are tiny claw holes. He likes to sleep in his cube in the cold weather. I was looking at his cubes the other day and just realized that the older ones have 3 large holes, whereas the more recent cube only has two. Needless to say which he prefers!

Our bodies do find their own ways to cope with loss and we just have to do the best we can, remembering the happy times we shared with those who have Gone Ahead. Karrie, I know how much Victoria, Henry, and Hef have helped you after Maverick, and then Nike, passed, and your three kitties are so lucky that you visited the shelter that day and took them home.

And Cheryl, it is so good to hear from you again. Miss Whiskers must be smiling down and watching over you.

It really is great that we have our LL family.

Hugs to you all,

Ella & Rusty

(((Carolyn)))......I think Miss Tippie HAS found her forever home whether you all want to admit to it or not. She is beautiful....so sleek and shiny...and fast! All that energy! You must have a blast playing with her and she has
lots of toys.

It's so funny...another example of ECID. We have four cubes and our cats are kind of take them/ leave them. They were a novelty at first but now...ho hum   I love your poignant thoughts about Latte and Tippie.

It's been good to see you around LL more. Big hugs.

Tippie is certainly a feisty girl. I'm sure it has helped her through some tough times. Bless you for taking care of her, Carolyn.

Today is Piglet's 8 month birthday, so as promised, here he is next to a pic of 8-month-old Butthead.

I was hoping to get more photos of Piglet tonight, but he's really bonkers and won't sit still (like this one, which I call "Headless Piglet")

Hee hee, that is a great video of Tippie! She looks like lots of fun. bcatrun_gif

The cats in boxes pic in Julie's condo reminded me of this video of Maru. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XID_W4neJo I don't know how to embed it in the post so here is the link. Enjoy!

ETA: MJ, LOVE the Headless Piglet photo!! He and Butthead do look exactly alike...

oh melissa! i ADORE maru! that link made me go over to youtube and then i had to watch 3 videos of maru. he's so cute!

mj, butthead and piglet look so much alike. they don't have the same parents, do they? what a sweet picture of them together like that!

MJ the headless Piglet is priceless. They do look very similar don't they. Butthead was such a gentle soul you can see how different they are also. I am loving Piglet's videos and they make me smile from ear to ear. I hope he is refilling your heart with happiness.
